@BostonRed doesn't always post hype videos from Instagram, but when he does he always posts hype videos of 13-year-old dual nationals.
Depends how good he is. If he's as good as advertised, he should have a decent chance to make the 2019 U-17 World Cup team, as long as they qualify. Do we even know where he stands though within his US age group? I have not seen him play, only highlights, seems to have a Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang style of playing striker. Hard to really know if he'll be good enough, but if he is one of the better 03's, he should stand a good chance to play for us at the U-17 WC, as long as he wants to play for the USA (instead of Nigeria and Netherlands) and we qualify. It gets much harder to project beyond that.
Actually I wouldnot bother as a fan to think about qualities of kids under 15 years. That's the business of coaches and scouts. It only starts to show what qualities there really are after that age and then still there are many ifs and but's, like the ability to unfold the qualities in a tactical frame work etc.

I follow him on Twitter, the Nigerians are nothing if not persistent. They comment on every single tweet even going as far as asking how tall he is, etc. It cracks me up.
Don't know reliable this is. http://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=25049#.WeW5IRvrt0A.twitter
Real Madrid looking to swoop Lateef from Arsenal. This is from a Nigerian source who certainly have quite the infatuation with him. Feel bad for the kid, this tireless persistence by the Nigerians on Twitter must get quite annoying.
If I was in charge at Feyenoord that kid would be kicked out immediately after his comments on joining a top epl club. We waste time and money on a leech, sucking our investment for his own gains without any gratitude for the chance given to him. A fv***ng parasite he is and to get our club healthy those parasites should be head chopped imediately after being spotted. The sooner he moves to epl land the better, as those that went there at 16 were never heared of anymore.
Mmmm, your club doesnot spend millions a year to prepare a few talents out of the many for a first team place and then see them walk off at 16 to the epl leeches. Brexit cannot come fast enough, as they then have to sign at 18.
This happens all the time in the USA. Not like Feyenoord is going to go broke because some kid whose transfer talk they clearly don't care too much about.
I think the article is referencing Xavi Simons, the child prodigy at Barcelona. If a Real Madrid scout really thinks Omidji is a top 5 youth prospect that's pretty cool, but I'm pretty sure the scout is imaginary.
That's the one they're talking about. It seems that the Spaniards want him for the future Spanish team, but it is for some reason impossible, because Xavi Simons can only play for the Netherlands.
Your club generates tens of millions of dollars in revenue per year and profits millions of dollars after all expenses are paid for, they don't need your crocodile tears.
You obviously have no clue about the prices asked for decent players nowadays. FYI Feyenoord just a few years ago was almost broke and it costed alot of effort to pay off the debts. We barely make a few millons profit, which isnot enough to do a down payment for a player, let alone a few, to replace retiring players or players not good enough to make us champions. It's not for nothing that we had to wait 18 years for a title. So when the epl leeches snap up kids of 16 year old from our academy it means we cannot grow into a competing club in he league and internationally in European competitions. So when you're ignorant of the real situation you better hush, and certainly not making comments like crocodile tears. This kid already from the day he got in showed a shit attitude towards the club and then it doesnot matter how old he is. He's a rotten apple that contaminates the basket of fruit. Rotten apples belong in the bin. period.
Obviously you're a rotten apple. Your club profited $6.8M in it's last fiscal year, a club record. Shut up and stop crying - throwing insults and petulance at an adolescent you've never met smh, ********ing embarrassing.
You have no clue about prices in the European club context do you? A club record profit after years of losses, big deal. Unless you've got a hot tip for a Messi like player for 6.8 million Mediocre players since this summer cost a minimum of 15-20 million. Nathan Aké is such a player poached by Chelsea at 16 year old. Sold by them as they couldnot use him for around 24 million to Bournemouth. Feyenoord could have used him in the first team and sold him while better players came through the academy and thus cashing in on our effforts to develop him. Our latest example of a 16 year old parasite is Tahit Chong, who was grabbed by ManUnited. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...te-deal-Feyenoord-wonderkid-Tahith-Chong.html And he's the latest in a long row of 16 year old kids that were lured by the epl money pits. And you dare to compare that with American clubs? You show with every post on this subject how ignorant you really are on this subject. These kids were lured around 15, but this Lateef kid barely set foot on our pitch and already is talking about how soon he wants to move abroad. You donot have to meet someone if his twitters made cristal clear what his attitude is. It is more a failure of his parents to teach him loyalty, gratitude and honour towards people and club that invest time and money to develop him..
I'm not looking at $6.8M within the context of market rates for Balon D'Or winners in their prime. I'm choosing to view that figure within the context of some dumb ass on a message board spewing vitriol at a child over petty perceived financial grievances. Let your ego aside for one second and smarten up. Obviously football is important and more than a game, but viewing children in that manner isn't appropriate imo.
Whatever. If you think it's alright for a kid to grow up as a selfish person with an attitude to take, but not to give back in return. Well have fun in such a world. He's receiving one of the best academy developments in the world for nothing ( the millions spent on the academy arenot recuped by letting the pupils pay), but gratitude towards the givers? No. You can talk down the financial issues surrounding the grabbing away of the kids from our academy, but it doesnot make them a non issue. We are a low budget club and the millions we lost by the hands of the already loaded epl clubs (their yearly contribution received from the tv rights is 4 fold our total budget!) and the kids jumping over board is enormous. It starts with kids/parents, so the issue is with them in this matter. The transfer sum of over 20 million Chelsea received for Aké, Feyenoord could have used to buy a good player or raise the internal salary cap to improve the team, which could give us better chances in winning CL matches (=1.5 million revenue vs nill with a loss). While working on those kids future, Feyenoord is also working on their own future. If one of the parties involved has only eyes for their own benefits at the expense of the other, at some time the development system we built up comes crashing down. Why invest money in development if the cherry picking epl leeches are the ones that take the big money and run? In England itself already lower league clubs ditched their academies because of the looting epl leeches. IIRC the Guardian had an article on it. So belittle it as much as you will out of stunning ignorance you show, but the effects of what I fulminate against are already causing havoc in England itself. Donot bother to answer as you are too dumb to understand the issue at hand. You refer to talking in the context of a dumb ass post, but in reality your talking to yourself in the mirror.
Good morning all. I've removed one personal attack from this thread. There are others that sit on the border, so I'll post a general reminder that personal attacks aren't allowed. To put it bluntly, if folks want to keep arguing the point currently under discussion they need to do so without calling someone a piece of shit, a dumbass, or by resorting to the blanket "you're too ignorant to be voicing an opinion" strategy. They kill conversations and make it hard for others to enjoy the site. On a less administrative note, I'd also like to make a plea for a little bit more understanding, particularly an understanding that takes into account the peculiar nature of YA. This is a place where people who are primarily interested in individual players interact with people who are primarily interested in the clubs employing/training/recruiting/etc. those players. Those interests don't perfectly mesh, but they both add value to the discussions here. So please at least try to understand the perspective of the other person when posting. To put that in play here, specifically, I think this whole conversation about Lateef's comments would have been easier if posters involved made a) some attempt to judge his comments by standards that take into account the nature of (absence of?) the kind of judgment exercised by 13 year olds (I've raised 2 wonderful intelligent sons through that age and...holy shit what a minefield) b) some attempt to hear as such the frustration of a person who loves/identifies with a club that is consistently begin taken advantage of due to corporate-level maneuvering and sees this as yet another case in point.
