I didn't know he was on twitter. It doesn't look like it has been long. He has been hard right and pushed bullshit for years. It's genuinely the reason I can't even watch Wheel of Fortune. Although he is a Kings' fan, him and his son have been Caps season ticket holders for years so I at least respect him for supporting the local team.
Sheeeeeeeeeit... You've got Russian politicians bragging about getting Trump elected, and many on the left will deny it.
This is disturbing. http://talkingpointsmemo.com/muckraker/us-activists-unwittingly-organized-events-russian-troll-farm It’s an article on how Russia recruited about 100 unwitting dupes for activism in the US.
Good thread, very speculative, yet informing: 11. Russian military installs malware in a software company used in numerous voting systems and gains access to a Florida network, which refused to investigate.Perspective: A free and fair election is the bedrock of democracy. Special Counsel could not “reliably” determine why Manafort shared internal polling data during the campaign with Kilimnik, who had ties to Russian intelligence.Perspective: Hmm. What was Russian intelligence doing during the campaign? Oh yeah, microtargeting Americans. pic.twitter.com/X5pxgX9HiO— Bette Dangerous (@Heidi_Cuda) May 1, 2019 39. The bro-love starts immediately. Does anybody outside of Cult 45 members not think that Donald Trump would accept any and all assistance to win an election? The idea that Donald Trump would turn down a gift because of moral qualms is ... absurd. So yeah, of course he signaled to Putin, "Go right ahead, subvert the intent of the U.S. Constitution, and help me." It would be bizarre if Trump had done anything else. We all know this, including many who don't like Trump but who don't necessarily plan to vote for his Democratic opponent. Which continues to strike me as odd, because one would think that getting a President who doesn't flout the Constitution by accepting aid from a foreign power (a nasty, dictatorial power, no less) would be about as important as a political issue can be. But not so, to many.
The second argument tends to be that we interfere in other country's elections, so why complain when they do it to us? Which I confess carries some weight. On the other hand, the Constitution doesn't talk about what we do to others. But it does talk about what others do to us. So there's that.
Fair elections? Brazen Russian operation stretched from the Bay Area to the heart of the nation’s capital, targeted FBI communications, hampered the bureau’s ability to track Russian spies on US soil, forced the FBI & CIA to cease contact w/ some of their Russian assets.https://t.co/3Tp3atQ9XB— Julia Davis (@JuliaDavisNews) September 16, 2019

Russia's not even bothering to pretend anymore. Why would they? —>> Asked about interfering in the 2020 US election, Putin jokes “I’ll tell you a secret: Yes, we’ll definitely do it,” adding in a stage whisper: “Just don’t tell anyone.”— Jim Sciutto (@jimsciutto) October 2, 2019

They will do it again in 2020, this time they could have 2 favorites running. Americans don’t need Russia’s polarizing influence operations.
