Iran doesn't have true stars. If Queiroz made their NT into a well-oiled machine, I think Hiddink can do the same for Korea. A good manager is a good manager. And he seems to really want the post.
I dont doubt Hiddink at all. it's just my worries that he will be considered a public enemy if he doesnt do well in 2018. You dont understand how these retards in Korea behave. Cha-Boom and his family had to immigrate to Germany after he didnt do well as a manager for our NT, which is fking ridiculous considering how he was praised like God by everyone when he was a player.
Ouch! That is scary, and is similar to the experience of Niko Kovač when he was Croatian NT manager. However, I think Hiddink is not likely to fail. He can find players that will be a success at the WC.
The sad fact of the matter is that we have fallen to 2nd rate in Asia for few years. Japan, Iran and probably Australia are ahead of us with China and other scrub teams improving every year. Lee Youngpyo predicted this and it is now true. We still have a good crop of current players right now but their mentality and confidence is in the toilet. The answer lies in the foreign based players finding chemistry with each other and with contribution from K-League standouts who are able to prove themselves. We need solid understanding that what counts is ability on the field and not factionalism and all the mind games that LDG and all the KFA, K-League retards play to solidify their own interests while undermining Son and other Euro players at every turn along with Korean sports 'press'. Stielicke obviously had no leadership and couldn't imprint and culture with KNT. The poor results evaporated whatever shreds of leadership he had. And in that vacuum the retarded Korean factionalism shizz has steadily filled the void. The current KFA and the pro LDG crowd will continue to reinforce their power base and control over KNT and Korean football and relegate Son, Koo, Ki and others to periphery and only allow them in if they kowtow to their agenda. This is the current playbook. We literally need a strong foreign coach that everyone respects to upturn this current state of affairs. I have zero hope of any change happening within KFA. A foreign coach is a viable solution. If we go with status quo, we will flounder and the rest of Asia let alone world football will pass by Korea.
http://v.sports.media.daum.net/v/20170906183947341 Someone KFA was asked about news of Hiddink possibly being hired and his response is, ""말도 안 되는 이야기다. 월드컵 본선 진출이 확정되자마자 히딩크 감독이 언급되는지 이해가 가지 않는다"고 했다." LOL. Why "말도 안 되"???? BC it goes against their agenda. A normal response would've been to say that KFA hasn't considered finding a replacement for Shin, Hiddink or otherwise but the KFA personnel's response is to say he doesn't understand at all why Hiddink is being mentioned after we just qualified for the WC. LOL. Of course he knows why Hiddink is being mentioned. He doesn't like it is what he means. Politics.
Hold up. Do you remember WC98 or were you too young (or not born yet)? Let's not gloss over all of the controversies created by the squad selection and his wife's involvement. WC98 really was piss-poor. And his family weren't forced into an exile in Germany.
The article ends with declarative statement that Shin accomplished his goal after just being hired, there are no good reasons for hiring him or demoting him to a coach position. What is this NK propaganda? That's the level of football journalism for you in Korea.
I do remember it. I dont know how you define the word "force" but they got several life threats that made them leave Korea. You know that it wasnt entirely Cha's fault tho, right? KFA didnt let Cha manage the team the way he wanted to at all. It's usually KFA that makes stupid mistakes that make ppl angry, but even if ppl know this, they usually express their anger towards the managers (exception: Stielike. He was fking shit himself.). Pretty sure Hiddink will get all the hate if we fail in 2018.
I don't know. All this talk about coaches. We need better players and better grassroots development. That is what we lack.
You realize those guys have been playing every game they're fit right? And two of those guys were our last two captains.
Not going to lie, I wouldn't mind having someone like YKH but younger and can pull the same consistent performance against a better side other than Uzbekistan. We really need a classic winger type.
Must ********ing start at the World Cup. He even has some pace left in him. From a composed defense, Uzbekistan were turned into a mess, by the mere entrance of YKH.
It was against burnt out Uzbekistan side. He won't do well against a better side in the WC. Also he's old so he can't perform like this 90 mins.
Maybe... there is so much competition in the midfield but if STY finds a system in which he can show all his abilities, why not ? He can make the difference on set piece and crosses and he's still one of the best players in the league. ps : Greetings to Croatia from France.
On the left of midfield in a 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1. Thanks. I hope to hear the beautiful anthem of South Korea not just 3 times at the WC.
I am kinda confused. Has he improved over the past years or is our squad so fking bad that 왼발의 맙소사 is now our ace?
Is this Hiddink talk based in any reality, or just fan speculation? I'd love to have the guy back ... but maybe after the World Cup. It would be a rough gig to take over any team right after qualifying and have them ready in a year with no competitive matches (*cough* Hong Myung-bo) and especially this team, with its current dysfunction. In order to hire anyone good right now, we'd need to guarantee a contract beyond 2018 - no matter the result at the World Cup. It would be unreasonable otherwise - no decent coach would accept. They might not accept anyway - it's really not an attractive job for any coach. No, STY is our guy - until our inevitable crash and burn. Tell you what though - Hiddink might be the only person who pulls enough respect with the fans, the media, the KFA, and the players to get them all to actually work with him. Apparently, some Aussies are grumbling for Hiddink to come back and take charge of their side. Unlike our KFA, they're not satisfied with failing upwards.
During the second half, the team played the way it should've been playing during the previous umpteen games. Incisive passing, skill, persistence- all by the old man. Others couldn't finish the chances, but that's a partially separate issue.
Yeah, but this guy used to be one of the worst players we had in the past. But now he's our ace.. I am just wondering if he's improved or our squad is full of shitty players that makes him look better than before.
Tbf he never got a fair chance after 2010 iirc. He's been killing it in the K-League for years and deserved to get tested over for example Hwang Il Soo or Lee Jung Hyub *cough* Stielike *cough*.
You guys need to stop over reacting/rating to sub performance by Yeom KH. It was against an extremely poor Uzbek side in 2nd half where Korea.. even in their absymal form, were already in control to some degree.
