We are so screwed. Won't even even qualify for 3rd playoff spot. Even if we do, and assuming we beat Australia... we will lose to Honduras or the United states. FFs, might as well finish 4th and get this slow death over and done with.
LOL. Love your optimism. Life is no more than a slow march to death, so let's jump off this bridge now.
Im sure our better players want to pummel Syria after that mudwrestling in Malaysia so qualifying is all in your hands guys.

Trust me, USA want to avoid this matchup too, but I have a feeling it will be Panama who take 4th... US will eventually qualify in third. I actually want Uzbekistan to win this as that's where the wife's from, but good luck either way!
I believe South Korea have better than a 75% chance of qualifying to the World Cup, combining their odds of qualifying directly (around 60%) with their odds of qualifying through the playoffs and factoring in the remote chance they will end up being eliminated altogether after the last matches in this group. But clearly if South Korea do not qualify directly, their odds of making the World Cup will drop significantly as the 4th round in the AFC will be against either Australia or Saudi Arabia. South Korea's chances against either will not be better than 50/50. And even if they overcome their 4th round opponent, they would have to face Concacaf's 4th place team and that would be at best a 50/50 proposition for them as well.
that's unlikely, heads never roll when it's the FA/Owner. They're the ones making the decisions after all. The head coach is there to be a casualty, a lightning rod for the public to vent their frustrations at. Messi has been at odds with the AFA for years, they just move from one incompetent/corrupt guy to the next. If Messi can't influence his FA, then no one can. Chelsea still has the same technical director Michael Emenalo but have switched from Ancelotti/Villas Boas/RDM/Benitez/Mourinho/Hiddink/Conte. The people at the top and their close circle don't really move unless their found to be corrupt, which just moves the post to someone that won't stir the pot, usually not one the fans/public want though. To cut off our nose hoping for change is STUPID. We need to get behind the team and go for the WIN no matter who the Fa/manager/etc is.
Then there are also the infamously annoying aggressive Korean "trash - reporters" (기레기). http://v.sports.media.daum.net/v/20170905100203593 LKH probably said in a private conversation that Uzbeks played with less physicality than Iran(if your read his original statement you should see that it was with a lot of qualification) and this annoying trash brought that up in an interview with an Uzbek player in order to incite and provoke him. Korean reporters are really an annoying breed. They act like they are the vanguard of representing the freedom of press in Korea. In reality they are very docile politically but in sports-related issues they go against the common interest of the Korean people in the false name of freedom of press. Now you will see Uzbeks get all pumped up shouting "Let's kill Koreans". The already daunting task of beating Uzbeks on their home soil becomes an impossibility now. If your read LKH's original interview you should see that he meant Uzbeks showed more sportsmanship, but the stupid reporter and the typical brainless jock LKH had to say that in this manner. something equivalent to "Uzbeks are weak sissies". It is not like Korean had been taking advantage of the "niceness" of Uzbeks. Korea have been the punching bags of the soccer world with referees being very harsh on them, thanks to Jung Mongkyu's non action despite his being the chair of the referee committee. This is in spite of the fact that Korea are at least physically capable of retaliating, especially against Iranians. Now Uzbeks go "Yeah? the sissy Koreans said that against us? Let's go kill them."
You must be naive if you really believe failure to qualify for Russia 2018 can positively affect the transformation in KFA.
This could be the starting formation (just based on some journalist's assumption): -------------------------------Kim Seung Gyu -------------Kim Min Jae---Jang Hyun Soo---Kim Young Gwon Ko Yo Han--------Lee Jae Sung*-------Koo Ja Cheol--------Kim Min Woo* --------------------------------Kwon Chang-Hoon* -------------Hwang Hee Chan*---------------Son Heung Min or: ----------------------------the same Kwon Chang Hoon*------------------------Son Heung Min -------------------------Hwang Hee Chan* *could differ Edit: 3-back seems likely because of Choi Chul Soon's absence and Ko Yo Han can't play RB properly.
I'd say LKH has good odds, because LDG doesn't have the stamina for 90mins and YKH can only play on SHM position (unless SHM moves right). Edit: I really don't care who plays (minus KSW) as long as they show some guts and I just don't want to see cowardly back passing and stupid long balls.
Shin Tae-yong was never going to play him for 90 mins in the first place, either start first half or come off as a sub in the second half.
