APOEL just let their starting keeper, Urko Pardo, go, meaning Gudiño has quite a good shot of being the starter. He's still gotta beat 33 y.o. Dutchman Boy Waterman and 18 y.o. Andreas Paraskevas.
Conejo retires this year and Abraham Romero will be getting CONCACAF or Copa MX games. Hopefully it pans out for this kid also but I feel safer about Romero's future.
More than likely he's going to be a starter and the good thing is he's playing champions league football and he gets to live in Cyprus

let's hope that will be the case we need more young mexican gk's, it would be a shame if pachuca decides to buy a 30+ yr old south american goalie.
I don't have as high hopes for him as I did prior to his loan to Madeira. Best of luck I guess. Also, this kid is gonna get to play in the champions league (against Madrid hopefully) before memo lul.
They already use waste of space (in a Mexican NT scale) Alfonso Blanco as 2nd keeper. They had that Uruguayan goalkeeper, Sebastian Sosa, but they sent him to Morelia (hopefully for good).
IMO there were very few times when buying a keeper wasn't warranted. Calero had a long career here and short of his final 2 seasons, he was always light years ahead of any keeper we had in our team. Cota is a good keeper but never really stood out here for some reason. I think they learned from that and will finally give Blanco the spot after Conejo is out (who is still a great keeper BTW). Romero will get games after Conejo retires. If he doesn't, then I agree that's complete BS.
