Yeah, I'll take the point for sure, but drawing against a 10-man Iran is no different from losing 1-0 to a relaxed Iranian team that didn't look serious i.e. Azmoun's soft goal last year.
With some stupid lapses in defending, frustrating attacking and some puzzling subs by Shin Tae-Young, thank goodness nothing else went horribly wrong.
What's with all the aggressive comments towards Iran all of a sudden Most of us didn't even provoke you guys
We can't go all in if we have a match left against Uzbeks. I agree with your points, strange substitution decisions, but we need to go all in against Uzbekistan.
usually when there's a new manager, we see an uptick in performance. it looks like players are trying a bit harder than when they've had the same manager for 6+ months. but today wasn't enough, as players just continued to look nervous doing their job.
When China scored against Uzbekistan, we could have went all in. Didn't matter if we drew or lost, we'll be put in the same predicament. Why sub out HHC for LDG???
The only impact would have been for us in that forum, forced to bear the iranian nationalist comments
Let's talk about your boy Lee Jae-Sung and how his performance today will land him a job in the Bundesliga
We also need to accept the fact that STY had no time to change the team drastically, I doubt that any manager would've been able to change the team that fast. It's more than okay to criticize STY, but it was the players who still were awfully bad at defending, ball control and had a lot of pass misses. Let's criticize STY for the formation, tactics and awfully timed and weird changes.
bigsoccer korea is very active, but other countries, such as iran, have alternative forums. so it makes sense for us to post on korea vs Iran matchday thread in korean forum, considering that our team is the one playing you. dont be mad at us, be mad at your teams performance for not managing a single shot on target even though playing against 10 men for 40 minutes.
Any team "looks bad" with 10 men, we didn't need the win, one man down, away. Also 2 of our players were making their debut, and our main striker was suspended. Not sure where some of you are going but I personally thought we did our job quite decently considering the circumstances. Anyways I always thought the most likely outcome of this game was a draw and you guys were going to have to get something from the Uzbekistan game
who the ******** cares man, STY was clueless and spineless. If we qualify I hope we sack him. None of the KFA funny business. And people here should stop supporting him after Uzbekistan game.
I wasn't happy with the Australian referee. I will leave it at that. I am happy with the result, which continues Iran record of keeping a clean sheet in these qualifiers. The performance by our team was acceptable as well. With a man down, Iran managed to largely contain the Koreans to a few half moments and nothing entirely dangerous. S.Korea should be able to qualify with a draw in Uzbekistan. But the Korean team didn't impress even in this match, which might have been the best Korea has played in these qualifiers.
lol are you for real? azmouns soft goal? we dominated you in that game, it should have read 3-0. dont be delusional. i admit that in our previous encounters we defended and won by scoring counters against you, but in that game we absolutely deserved to win.
STY, what a retard. Yeah lets keep making a dumb face on the sidelines and make no subs against 10 men
to those who said they aren't happy with the Aussie referee...are you guys really that blind to say that wasn't a red card? jesus christ try being objective for once in your life instead of living in your little protective spaces
There was a huge qualitative difference between the Iranian player who were easily holding the ball and passing through multiple Korean defenders and Korean players who were losing the ball when an Iranian player looked at them. This is a serious problem. The Euro based players were significantly better at this than the domestic players although they were also ditching balls and failing to connect effective passes for the most part. This on top of the fact that the KNT has forgotten how to play as a team thanks to Steelicker makes for a terrible form. STY doesn't have the tactical knowhow to impact the game. He just tries things and is kind of there. He's not a general. Korea needs a Hiddink or even an Advocaat or someone with worldclass football knowledge and backbone. This is a terrible situation we're in.
not saying theyd do that, but iran can let in 10 goals next match and get syria through imagine that, syria might make the world cup
Delusional? Your team was far more relaxed and composed whilst our team was utter horse shit, and that goal by Azmoun was as soft as a fine pillow due thanks to our horrible defense.
