No I wasn't being sarcastic. I know other leagues have playoffs.

I hate the unbalanced schedule. I hate the never ending expansion of teams. I hate the conferences. And I hate the playoffs. But I don't really consider them to be gimmicks in the sense of the All-Star game or extra subs (which I was rightfully corrected on).

I genuinely think we're going to get the 4th sub in the laws and that we'll see another change with respect to head injury evaluation within the next few years.

I was reading about this on the subreddit. I have seen another person verify that their Alberg autograph was also on something that they said was pretty close to napkin-quality.

Some have asked why Edu wasnt "PUP'd"(if there's an MLS equivalent say so) and put on the season ending injury list. I think its because:

    "
    Budget Charge for Season-ending Injuries
The club will remain responsible for the injured player's full Salary Budget Charge. Clubs may execute a trade to create budget space in order to sign a Season-ending Injury Replacement Player. This is the only circumstance in which a club may trade for Salary Budget space."

They only gain roster spot relief. You get "budget" relief IF you take on the full cost of the salary. So, in Mo's case, the team would have to spend ACTUAL cash to reclaim his budget charge. As it is, they can use phony TAM/GAM to pay him down and he's just a roster hole. If they "PUP'd" him, he'd be an actual Sugarman bank account hole.

    Guess what wasn't happening...

This is what bothers me the most. They could have just bought out his contract and moved on but no we have to listen to press conferences about roster problems all year.

What's more troubling is why that isn't the default for a season ending injury. They club should be insured against the loss for a prorated value of the cash call or something.

Such an insurance policy seems like a no-brainer for older players with high-value contracts. Unless you are REALLY cheap and don't care about winning.

Id imagine MLS, who owns the contract, may be. The TAM GAM aspect makes it murkier about a claim. Since the league gives club AM to pay down salaries, does that abrogate the Union from recovering money they never actually had to spend? If a roster spot breaks it's leg in the forest, does anyone hear it? Dunno, just wanted to type "abrogate".

Say what you want but thats really only five games that need to go our way to make up the difference. If the ball just bounces our way then its a different story. When you think about it we're only a few pieces short of a winning team.

They'll probably post 3 pitch pattern designs (big lines, a checkerboard style, maybe a big circle) and have people vote on them.
