We are at Real Salt Lake tomorrow, Saturday, at 8PM. TV on Altitude I assume. @The Tinto stadium in Sandy, UT. Some suggested topics of discussion: Does anybody care? Can anyone remember the Rocky Mountain Cup status? Our season is done, is theirs? What soccer game do you most want to watch it this weekend? What did you think of the Champions League draw? Who are you rooting for the MLS supporters Shield and Cup? Who do you think is going to win them?
I actually care about this game quite a bit. Made a bet with a fsl coworker on who wins the cup. I really don't want to wear a fsl scarf all day at work. Mybskin will likely blister. Rod
First of all, thanks, @AlbertCamus for starting this thread. I was afraid I'd have to do it again. In order: I care. Bad or not bad, the Rapids are still my team in MLS! I do not remember the RMC status - help @JasonMa ! RSL;s season is pretty much done. I'm looking forward to Liverpool-Arsenal this weekend. I wonder how Dortmund keeps getting Real Madrid in the group stage. And, as much as I'm not a Diego Simeone fan, I hope they beat Chel$ea twice and help knock them out. I'd kinda like to see Toronto win MLS Cup. Wouldn't bother me if they won the Supporter's Shield as well. I want Jozy and Bradley at the tops of their games for the remaining WCQs.
La Liga obviously rigged things (again) with PSG and Munchen in the same group. Didn't see Stan's other team in there at all? Monaco and Liverpool have (on the surface to this casual observer) walk-overs, Man. Utd. and Man. City also may not have to raise much of a sweat to advance. If RSL can't beat the Rapids and the Rapids can't beat anyone on the road I guess this will be a draw, a long, boring, painful to watch, sub-professional, draw ... in a caffeine-free alternative universe.
Thanks! I will go through my discussion points too. I care now! Just looked at the standing, RSL do have a chance (32pts, 6th place has 35), so it will be fun to dent those! Yes, JasonMa, RMC status. I'd like to say an MLS game, but probably not this weekend. Haven't watched any EPL yet this season, but Everton-Chelsea will be good. I root against all the English teams except Tottenham. I'd like see Roma do better this year. Good with Toronto too, also like RedBulls. And anyone playing Seattle.
I'd like to say I care that they at least beat Salt Lake, but can't really muster any desire outside of just wanting SL to fail miserably. Will be looking forward to watching Wednesday v Albion tomorrow morning on ESPNsixtytwo. Rest of the games/weekend, meh, tho will record and watch some of 'pool v scousers. Liked the CL draw for MU but Benfica has usually proved difficult. Look forward to watching the games from Group B & H. & I find I root more against other MLS teams to win the cup or do well vs wanting them to win. Hopefully the Rapids can actually find something for this game instead of forgetting their boots back at home....
First RMC game was 2-1 FSL, last one is our final home game of the season. RMC is decided on points, goals, current holders retain Cup. So FSL wins it with a win, a draw means we have to win the home match by 2, a Rapids win by 1 means we have to win the home match by 1, a Rapids win by 2 means we have to not lose the home match. Looking forward to the Leverkusen-Hoffenheim game tomorrow morning.
Meanwhile, in Utah: http://www.deseretnews.com/article/...arged-with-unlawful-sex-with-15-year-old.html
Prediction: RSL 3-4 Rapids I know it's a long shot but if it happens it will be the highlight of the year.
Youth movement? (Too soon?) Shirt sponsor is probably just thrilled with the exposure that story has gotten them.
2-1 win, goals by Gashi and Badji. Yes I'm being unreasonably optimistic with this prediction, I figure this is the last chance this season to do so and I'm taking it. If there's any pride left in this team we'll see it tomorrow. If we don't it will just be 9 long games to suffer through until the end of the year. http://view-from-the-couch.blogspot.com/2017/08/only-thing-left-to-play-for-rocky.html
Sounds like he might not have known the age of the girl. Sad if so. You also wonder about other cultural factors in the case. 15 is old in some parts of the world, I'm not saying that's a good thing, just that things need to be considered.
I'm past caring. No, until I saw @JasonMa's post. Probably, but they will linger a couple matches longer than the Rapids. Montreal v. Toronto. I didn't think of it. Too busy this week. The Shield is pretty much a gimme for TFC unless they collapse. Nobody in the West can find separation from the pool of teams, but I wouldn't be surprised to find the Cup winner out here.

A few days ago a Rapids tweet hinted that he had passed a fitness test and was available ofr selection. I too was thinking we'd see him tonight.
