Not 100% fair comparison as there is less risk of losing value with the MLS franchise... we know the Union are trying their hardest to lose value and it's still going up. Do LA, Seattle, and Toronto have awesome TV and shirt sponsors? That is a huge difference in value. Maybe there is stadium value in there as well.
Did 2018 applications open up for renewals? I lost the email and wanted check out the pricing before making my final decision. When I went into my account manager it said that no season applications were available, even though there is a spot called 2018 renewals. Why can't they get things right?
They have not opened up. There was has been a Re-doop ad up on the website for a couple weeks though and some people have been given the chance I think for some reason... we have seen the pricing.
That and losses via operating expenses aren't counted, either. Plus you have to find a buyer, pay legal fees, etc.
MLS to allow fourth substitution in extra time of 2017 postseason matches: https://t.co/DH6n6mXZLA pic.twitter.com/NyhAQrTDm0— Major League Soccer (@MLS) August 17, 2017 I see two fundamental issues with this ... Union hardly goes to postseason Curtin hardly uses the full allowance of 3 subs as it is
MLS starting to add gimmicks again? Didn't we learn that lesson many moons ago? ETA: I know this has been tried in various competitions already, but I think it's silly.
I always think it's weird when MLS deviates from world standards. Maybe there are other things MLS does that already deviates. But nothing that I'm aware of.
I don't think this is MLS adding gimmicks, every cup competition in the world is heading to this route.
Guys, this is a Fifa approved experiment. I has been used in the Scottish Cup, Confed Cup, and World Club Cup already. Its not an MLS gimmick, its on the agenda for the IFAB and has a good chance of being added to the Laws of the Game for 2018-19.
To this day, that white spray remains America's greatest contribution to the game. edit: Nevermind, I looked it up. Some Brazillian dude invented it. Out biggest contribution is probably TV money...
Whenever I get down on us, I remember: at least we're not them. #NYCFC's Home Game vs @HoustonDynamo Relocated to Pratt & Whitney StadiumDETAILS ➡️ https://t.co/6MDzAqcio2 pic.twitter.com/Lt2bAhhAcW— New York City FC (@newyorkcityfc) August 22, 2017 (I know objectively we're still run worse -- but it's the little pick me ups that count!)
Looks like a much better place to watch a soccer match. Maybe they can convert some Whalers fans to the sport.
I'd switch places with them in a heartbeat... they have competent ownership willing to spend and compete.
I just assumed Pete's comment was sarcastic...the playoffs, single-entity structure, East & West confetences, not stopping during FIFA breaks...the list of things MLS insists on doing differently than the rest of the world goes on and on.
We're complaining about playoffs and scheduling? Is that where we are in the season? Give me a ********ing break... the playoffs are fantastic for starters, plus with an unbalanced schedule you sort of need them... you're delusional if you think MLS should have halted at 20 teams... not to mention comments like this ignore leagues like Mexico That has playoffs which nobody ever questions... and lol winter scheduling.. lololololol
Not saying those things are bad...a lot of them make sense for MLS for a variety of reasons. I was referencing Handsome Pete's prior post where he said (I assumed sarcastically) that he wasn't aware of any MLS peculiarities that differ from the rest of the football-playing world.
