I have PlayStation Vue as my tv provider. I receive Comcast Sportsnet Chicago as one of my local sports channels. I am able to watch Bulls, Cubs, Blackhawks and White Sox. But Chicago Fire games are blacked out. I am in market. If I were to have MLS Live, that would black out Fire games too. So I could pay for my local sports station and the MLS league package. But I would not be able to watch my local team live. Does anyone know which moron in the front office is messing this up? Blackouts like this are determined by the local team. This is not a league decision. This is a Fire decision. If I had cable or satellite, I could watch the game.
All of the streaming TV services are blacked out when it comes to Fire games. Vue was the last of the providers to fall victim of this decision (last year I was a Vue subscriber and Fire games on CSN and CSN+ worked just fine). The only way around it currently is be a MLSLive sub and have a VPN. I too would like to know which person in the FO is responsible for this as it makes my decision even easier to not give my money to them anytime soon, especially when the Bulls, Cubs, Sox and Blackhawks are on board.
I have this same issue with Directv Now. These over the top streaming services were not able to secure the local rights for MLS teams. I'm not sure why that is. At first I thought it was just DTVNow but I'm guessing it's the same with Sling and Hulu Live since you're having issues with PSVue. I tried the VPN trick but both MLSSoccer.com and MLB.com have figured out how to thwart it. Despite this bit of suckage, I'm still pleased with my decision to drop Comcast and sign up with DTVNow. $35/mo for 100+ channels (I got the launch deal) is great and with 2 kids under 3 I never get to watch anything live anyway.
CSN and CSN+ on streaming services like Sling, Vue, YouTube TV etc are exactly the same as their traditional cable/satellite channels. Heck the pregame airs on the services I listed but not the games themselves.
Just a screen that says "This game is not available for streaming over the internet". The answer to your second question is answered above.
m I am quite happy with Vue. I will not be switching from them anytime soon. I have emailed the team and still not heard anything. This is a bad joke.
