I don't think NASL would actively try to get Wichita. They want MLB/NFL/NBA markets right now. I think it's probably USLD3 or NISA.

While I don't disagree, what's the point, then?

I said this when the rumor was floated that the NPSL might have an upper and lower division (they certainly have enough teams to, but.....). You'll arbitrarily assign teams that are, by and large, at the same level (with some exceptions in how well they operate) and you're going to take the couple-three of those who happen to have bad seasons on the field and send them down to the lower division with no regard to geography or anything. Meanwhile, you'll promote teams that - just a year earlier - were all lumped in with everybody else and will then have to fit in at a level they weren't qualified for, organizationally when you did the split.

It makes people feel like they're doing something, I guess. It would look like promotion and relegation. But how's it working in the UPSL? Big crowds? Dramatic promotion races and relegation escapes?

I forgot the Roughnecks are on the market! Is there a chance they might actually not be around next year?

I don't know how things went for Tulsa at their new stadium, but as of last year they pulled 2200 or so on average according to what their GM told me. So if they kept up anywhere near that they are still elite among NPSL teams

I'm of the opinion that if you want pro/rel you need to institute a playoff like format that makes the lower division teams prove they can outperform the higher division on the field. Otherwise you might as well pick just a random sampling to promote and relegate.

Are you thinking of the Tulsa athletic rather than the roughneck?

Yes the owner who tweeted something that would have indicated he was at the NISA meeting was Sonny Delassandro, the owner of Tulsa Athletic.

It wouldn't surprise me the athletic go NISA
Especially if the roughneck don't last

What if Tulsa Athletic bought the Roughnecks and jumped to NISA?

To my knowledge, nobody who is any part of Tulsa Athletic is interested in buying them, which includes a sponsor who'd have the money and net worth to buy them outright and satisfy D2 majority owner requirement.

I've been told there already is a local LOI to purchase the Roughnecks but nothing official yet. Rumor has it the team will not play at ONEOk in 2018 and may not even be playing downtown anymore.

It is highly unlikely that Tulsa Athletic plays in NISA next season and equally unlikely they will return to the mostly demolished stadium they played at in 2016 despite it dubiously sitting vacant... another year at LaFortune Stadium is also out.

There are several conflicting rumors and many moving pieces here, so alot will depend on where exactly the Roughnecks end up playing next season and whether Athletic and friends can solve a long term stadium dilemma.

My feeling is that the rumored new owner of the Roughnecks would ultimately be more comfortable in the 3rd division long term, but there's no way in hell they'd be allowed by USL to move to NISA.

I predict this will end stupidly.

Could the A's high net worth investor/sponsor build them a 5000 seat modular stadium?

    Technically, yes.
But in reality, you can't tell the players without a program... so, without further Adu... here's a program with a list of the players...

Rumor on the Roughnecks involves a possible move to Jenks with these guys possibly involving this guy.

A soccer stadium downtown? Or unlikely to be downtown because of the coordinating council?

Milwaukee torrent partners with Mike Zimmerman and the wave and brings in giannis antetokounmpo as a minority owner. NISA her we come next step NASL.

    Thoughts?

Any word on if the SD NASL group has any interest in NISA? They've been talking about a lower level companion team to the forthcoming NASL squad. NISA or NPSL both seem like they'd be a fit.

I'd be surprised if any NASL teams showed interest in placing a "2" team. And I'd be even more surprised if NISA wanted anybody's "2" team from any other league.

I doubt it, but I wouldn't be surprised to see affiliates and loans. Just not straight up 2 teams

I'd imagine it would be NPSL or UPSL, who are cheaper

Figured as much, but it was worth considering. I'd imagine NPSL makes the most sense given proximity to so many other Southwest Conference teams but also access to paid players.
