Hapoel Be'er Sheva has a 10.875 coefficient. In Champions League Qualifying Round 2, they will host the first leg against Honved of Hungary, who has a 2.900 coefficient. If Hapoel Be'er Sheva advances, they will be unseeded in Qualifying Round 3 and the Playoff Round.

For the second consecutive season, Maccabi Tel Aviv has the best coefficient of the clubs starting in Europa League Qualifying Round 1. They have a 23.375 coefficient and will host the first leg against Tirana of Albania, who has a 1.825 coefficient.

Beitar Jerusalem has a 5.875 coefficient. They will host the first leg of Europa League Qualifying Round 1 against Vasas of Hungary, who has a 1.900 coefficient.

If they advance to Europa League Qualifying Round 2, Maccabi Tel Aviv will host the first leg against SJK Seinajoki of Finland or KR Reykjavik of Iceland. SJK Seinajoki has a 2.780 coefficient and KR Reykjavik has a 5.175 coefficient.

If they advance to Europa League Qualifying Round 2, Beitar Jerusalem will host the second leg against Partizani Tirana of Albania or Botev Plovdiv of Bulgaria. Partizani Tirana has a 3.075 coefficient and Botev Plovdiv has a 4.675 coefficient.

Bnei Yehuda will start in Europa League Qualifying Round 2 and will host the second leg against AS Trencin of Slovakia or Torpedo Kutaisi of Georgia. Bnei Yehuda has a 4.875 coefficient, AS Trencin has a 6.850 coefficient, and Torpedo Kutaisi has a 1.775 coefficient.

All four Israeli clubs got easy draws. The only unseeded club, Bnei Yehuda, could face AS Trencin, who ranks 21st out of 33 in the coefficients for the seeded clubs in Europa League Qualifying Round 2 if all of the seeded clubs advanced from Europa League Qualifying Round 1.

As a result of 2012-2013 dropping out, Israel passed Belarus and Sweden to move up to 20th in the country coefficients for the four seasons 2013-2014 through 2016-2017. As 2017-2018 is played, it will be added to those four seasons to make a five season sum.

Beitar Jerusalem will play their home leg at HaMoshava Stadium in Petach Tikva. Maccabi Tel Aviv will play their home leg at Netanya Stadium in Netanya. Beitar Jerusalem signed 37 year old Yossi Benayoun.

Beitar Jerusalem scored first, had me disappointed when they trailed 3-1, scored in the 88th minute, and scored twice in stoppage time to win 4-3. Because of Vasas's 3 away goals, Vasas will advance with a 1-0, 2-1, or 3-2 win, or a win by 2 or more.

Maccabi Tel Aviv won 2-0. They had 51 percent of the possession, only 3 shots on target, and fewer set pieces than KF Tirana.

The two wins are worth 0.500 coefficient points for Israel (0.250 each).

KF Tirana 0-3 Maccabi Tel Aviv
    Vasas 0-3 Beitar Jerusalem

Maccabi Tel Aviv was scoreless at halftime, which was shortly after KF Tirana's straight red card in the 45th minute. Maccabi Tel Aviv had 60% of the possession, but KF Tirana had over double the free kicks (23 to 11). From late in the first leg through the second leg, Beitar Jerusalem scored 6 unanswered goals. Vasas had 53% of the possession. Both Israeli clubs had 7 shots on target and allowed 1 shot on target.

In games determining who the Israeli clubs face next, Botev Plovdiv of Bulgaria beat Partizani Tirana of Albania, AS Trencin of Slovakia beat Torpedo Kutaisi of Georgia, and KR Reykjavik of Iceland beat SJK Seinajoki of Finland. Maccabi Tel Aviv will have a long trip to Iceland for the second leg.

If they advance to Champions League Qualifying Round 3, Hapoel Be'er Sheva will host the first leg against Zalgiris Vilnius of Lithuania or seeded club Ludogorets Razgrad of Bulgaria. Zalgiris Vilnius came back to win 2-1 at home. Ludogorets Razgrad has the fifth best coefficient of the ten seeded champions. The draw for Qualifying Round 3 determines seeding by the club who was seeded in each Qualifying Round 2 pairing.

If they advance to Europa League Qualifying Round 3:

Maccabi Tel Aviv will host the first leg against Panionios of Greece or Gorica of Slovakia. Beitar Jerusalem will host the first leg against Maritimo Funchal of Portugal. Bnei Yehuda, the only Israeli club who could host the second leg, starts at Zenit St. Petersburg, who has by far the best coefficient of the 58 clubs in Qualifying Round 3. For the five seasons 2012-2013 through 2016-2017, Zenit St. Petersburg's coefficient is 19th.

    Honved 2-3 Hapoel Be'er Sheva (3-5 aggregate)

Hapoel Be'er Sheva scored the first two goals to take a 4-1 aggregate lead and an away goals lead, meaning Honved needed to win by 2. Honved tied the game in the 73rd minute, at which point they still needed 2 more goals to advance, and Hapoel Be'er Sheva scored in the 84th minute to get coefficient points for winning the game. Hapoel Be'er Sheva dominated the statistics with 62% of the possession, more shots (13 to 10), more shots on target (8 to 4), more free kicks (31 to 16), more corner kicks (5 to 1), and Honved had the only 5 yellow cards.

Israel has 2.00 coefficient points, which is more than the 1.375 from 2014-2015 and near the 2.250 from 2015-2016. Israel had a 3.250 in 2012-2013, which dropped out at the start of 2017-2018, so Israel needs 1.250 more to have the same five year sum as after 2016-2017 and Israel will hopefully get more than 3.250.

Ludogorets Razgrad lost 2-1 at Zalgiris Vilnius, who scored the first goal of the second leg for a 3-1 aggregate lead. Ludogorets Razgrad scored 4 goals to win the aggregate 5-3 like Hapoel Be'er Sheva did.

    In the Europa League tomorrow:

Bnei Yehuda hosts AS Trencin of Slovakia at 1:00 P.M. USA Eastern, which is between 19 and 20 hours from now. The first leg was 1-1. The Intertops odds give these probabilities:

    Bnei Yehuda win: 26.9%
    Draw: 28.1%
    AS Trencin win: 45.0%

Beitar Jerusalem is at Botev Plovdiv of Bulgaria at 1:30 P.M. USA Eastern. The first leg was 1-1. The Intertops odds give these probabilities:

    Botev Plovdiv win: 31.5%
    Draw: 28.5%
    Beitar Jerusalem win: 39.9%
It adds up to 99.9% due to rounding.

Maccabi Tel Aviv is at KR Reykjavik of Iceland in the latest start time at 3:15 P.M. USA Eastern. Maccabi Tel Aviv won the first leg 3-1. The Intertops odds give these probabilities:

    KR Reykjavik win: 19.9%
    Draw: 25.6%
    Maccabi Tel Aviv win: 54.4%
It adds up to 99% due to rounding.

Bnei Yehuda 2-0 AS Trencin (3-1 aggregate)

AS Trencin dominated the statistics with 72% of the possession, more shots (20 to 9), more free kicks (14 to 7), more corner kicks (9 to 5), and fewer yellow cards (1 for Bnei Yehuda and 0 for AS Trencin. However, shots on target were 7 each and Bnei Yehuda won. If they play like that next week they could lose by a lot at Zenit St. Petersburg.

Botev Plovdiv 4-0 Beitar Jerusalem (5-1 aggregate)

Botev Plovdiv took the lead in the 10th minute. Beitar Jerusalem had way more yellow cards, 7 to 2. Both of Botev Plovdiv's yellow cards were in stoppage time with Beitar Jerusalem down a man due to a 76th minute second yellow card. Beitar Jerusalem had 58% of the possession, but shots (19 to 9), shots on target (9 to 3), free kicks (19 to 12), and corner kicks (6 to 3) all favored Botev Plovdiv.

KR Reykjavik 0-2 Maccabi Tel Aviv (1-5 aggregate)

Maccabi Tel Aviv had 55% of the possesion and more shots on target, 7 to 2.

Israel has a 2.500 country coefficient so far, which is higher than Israel had in 2014-2015 and 2015-2016.

The order of the Bnei Yehuda vs. Zenit St. Petersburg legs was switched, so all three Israeli clubs will have the first leg at home.

Hapoel Be'er Sheva 2-0 Ludogorets Razgrad

Hapoel Be'er Sheva had 61 percent of the possession and more shots on target, 7 to 4. Ludogorets Razgrad led other statistics with more free kicks (20 to 9), more corner kicks (5 to 4), and fewer yellow cards (they had 2 and Hapoel Be'er Sheva had 3). In their second leg last week hosting Trakai of Lithuania, Ludogorets Razgrad won 4-1. Hapoel Be'er Sheva is better than Trakai, and doing 1 goal better than Trakai, such as a 3-1 or 4-2 loss in Bulgaria, would advance Hapoel Be'er Sheva on away goals.

For both legs I was surprised by how good the Intertops odds thinks Hapoel Be'er Sheva is. Here are the second leg probabilities based on the odds:

    Ludogorets Razgrad win: 51.8%
    Draw: 26.7%
    Hapoel Be'er Sheva win: 21.6%
It adds up to 100.1% due to rounding.

    For the Europa League:

    Zenit St. Petersburg win: 81.2%
    Draw: 13.5%
    Bnei Yehuda win: 5.3%

    Panionios win: 33.1%
    Draw: 30.4%
    Maccabi Tel Aviv win: 36.5%

Panionios has two Iranian players who refuse to play against Israeli clubs.

Ludogorets Razgrad 3-1 Hapoel Be'er Sheva (3-3 aggregate, Hapoel Be'er Sheva advanced on away goals)

Wanderson scored in the 9th and 33rd minutes, and the aggregate and away goals were tied at halftime. Marcelinho scored in the 56th minute to make it 3-0 and give Ludogorets Razgrad the aggregate lead. Mohammad Ghadir was the hero for Hapoel Be'er Sheva with a goal in the 61st minute to tie the aggregate. Hapoel Be'er Sheva got 8 yellow cards, including an ejection for a second yellow in the 88th minute, which was shortly if they failed on a penalty kick in the 86th minute. In the 90+5th minute Anthony Nwakaeme tried to score a second goal for Hapoel Be'er Sheva, but he had a chance called back for offside and then shot off the goalpost. 5 minutes of stoppage time were announced. In the 90+6th minute, Marcelinho got a straight red card to make it 10 men each. I thought the referee might end the game then, but he gave Ludogorets Razgrad a final chance. They moved down the field, and with the ball near the corner Hapoel Be'er Sheva kicked it away to end the game. Ludogortes Razgrad got 4 yellow cards, so there were a total of 11 first yellows, one second yellow, and one straight red. Ludogorets Razgrad had better statistics with 51% of the possession, more shots (13 to 8), more shots on target (5 to 2), fewer yellow cards, and more free kicks (26 to 18). Hapoel Be'er Sheva had more corner kicks (6 to 5) and fewer times offside (6 to 3).

Greetings from Bulgaria and congratulation for beating us in the UEFA Champions League 3rd Qualifying round. 2 great matches happen, and unfortunately for Bulgaria,Hapoel Be'er Sheva qualified for UCL Playoff Round. I want to say good luck, and I hope you play versus Celtic FC again, not because I'm mad, that we lost, but because you deserve to feel what's in the UEFA Champions League Group Stage,by eliminating that crap

Thank you. It's rare for somebody other than me to post in the Israel forum, so I appreciate your post. You can be happy that Ludogorets will be seeded in the Europa League Playoff Round. Hapoel Be'er Sheva plays close aggregates. They won or lost all three Qualifying Rounds last season by 1 goal, beat Honved of Hungary by 1 in each leg for a 5-3 aggregate win in Qualifying Round 2, and now advanced on away goals.

Olympiakos Piraeus (64.850) of Greece, Celtic* (42.785) of Scotland, Copenhagen^ (37.800) of Denmark, APOEL Nicosia* (26.210) of Cyprus, and Maribor (21.125) of Slovenia are Hapoel Be'er Sheva's five possible Playoff Round opponents. A * means the club was seeded in last season's Playoff Round and was drawn against or could have been drawn against Hapoel Be'er Sheva, and a ^ means the club was unseeded in last season's Playoff Round. I wouldn't be surprised for the aggregate to be close. The draw is on Friday at 12:00 P.M. local, which is 6:00 A.M. USA Eastern.

19 clubs have played at least 5 Champions League or Europa League qualifiers, and Maccabi Tel Aviv is the only club with 5 wins. Their second leg is at 3:00 P.M. USA Eastern, which is between 6 and 7 hours from now. The betting odds have a home win for Panionios, a draw, and a Maccabi Tel Aviv win as about equally likely. Maccabi Tel Aviv won the first leg 1-0. After losing 2-0 at home, Bnei Yehuda plays at Zenit St. Petersburg, which starts 2 hours before Maccabi Tel Aviv does.
