Recently-promoted top-tier side. which tells its own story. They're on the same financial level as a BL3 or a good NASL side, and there's an option, so Mainz evidently don't see him in their line-up going forward.

Let's hope this is a springboard, but I doubt we'll be seeing him in BL1 any time soon.

Actually, there's no option to buy.

Devante came off the bench at 72' in a 3 - 2 loss to Sturm Graz in the season opener (they had an early 0 - 2 lead, and gave up a 90+ PK)

    Is this a serious question?

It's not like MLS is astronomically ahead of the Austrian Bundesliga, and there are about ten different reasons why the latter is better for his career if his goal is to succeed in Europe.

well if he comes to usa much more likely to play usmnt some day....and MLS has not been shy about getting us players to stay/come back to MLS....i would like to see MLS jump on situations like this and sign dual-nats who might not otherwise play for the US, too. i mean, they have signing up a bunch of players from switzerland and albania etc ...why not a player in austrian league...even better if he has possible usmnt eligiblity.

Is there even MLS interest? I'm sure the Austrian Bundesliga scouts the reserve team of Mainz/Germany U-21's more than any MLS scout ever did.

Not to be mean but I always forget that he exists given how the last 2 seasons have went for him.
17/18 Cruciate Ligament Rupture Sep 15, 2017-present day, 253 days 28 games missed
    16/17 groin strain Feb 20, 2017-Apr 15, 2017 54 days 8 games missed
    16/17 Wound Dec 22, 2016-Jan 23, 2017 32 days 1 games missed
    16/17 Knee injury Aug 18, 2016-Sep 15, 2016 28 days 4 games missed

missed basically half a season in the last season and now has essentially missed all season....

Contract at Mainz expires in Summer 2019. Mainz's director of football Rouven Schroder, recently said that Parker was one of several players who they haven't decided yet what to do with for next season. The 1st thing Parker has to do is to get back into shape in the Summer and then they are likely to decide. Is fast approaching on being out for almost a whole year.

makes one wonder how much will this change him as a player?
Can't see any 1BL team wanting him, seems likely he either goes to lower division or abroad somewhere.

looks like he's back into shape and scored once during a Mainz II friendly game. Although they won the game 8-0.

seems like they want to ease him back in, as for Mainz II their next official game is tomorrow.

Any news on Devante? His older brother Shawn is playing only 2.5 hours away at Furth. Would be fun if they joined the same team.
