Raspreet Sandhu is playing for Tampines Rovers FC in Singapore, he's from the Bay Area, born in mountain view I think, played collegiately at ssu, and his dad played for the club also.
Newly promoted Danish Superliga side Hobro have made a clever move by signing a 3-year deal with Danish-American midfielder Vito Hammershøy-Mistrati and a 2-year deal with Elsinore centre back Rasmus Minor Petersen. Obviously also making the two players full-time professionals, which should help them improve. The two key players from the other newly promoted FC Helsingør (Elsinore), both make the Hobro team stronger, while making it even more likely that Elsinore will end up with the 1 sure relegation spot ... Like all the other Superliga teams, besides Elsinore, Hobro are a full-time professsionals, so it's easy for them to pick up their key players. while Elsinore only will be able to offer part-time contracts to the replacements they are able to find.
Oops sorry about that, I think I misspelled his name in the search bar. Ssu's head coach has Dutch/German connection, and a number of players from sonoma state have went over there to trial or play, I'll update you guys if I hear anything
Please do. Over the years I believe we've posted about a number of those players, often (if I recall correctly) guys who end up spending time in the Dutch amateur divisions.
It's the same Leon Taylor: https://www.pscsocceracademy.com/becoming-a-professional-footballer-psc-success-story-leon-taylor/ He scored today: https://www.svenskalag.se/bbkff_a/nyheter/1005955/tv-malet-fran-bbk-moron
I don't see a thread for this guy? I have been following Mason Robertson, a dual US/Scot, who played at Stenhousemuir in Scotland last season. He has now transferred 7/1 to Peterhead (also in Scotland) I can find no Scottish National play at any level so I am guessing he is a YA..Born in Scotland 1994, he played for the Washington Huskies before signing with Stenhousemuir Just hope he is not another of those mistaken YA - because he played college in the US. Any clues out there??
He actually has an entry in this thread. He's probably been in the US since 2007 with his dad. No obvious evidence he's a US citizen, but he's been in the US long enough to be one. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/th...ive-work-thread.1987805/page-20#post-35149217
FuPa lists a German-American '91 named Dominick Wynn as having just moved to Fortuna Regensburg. http://www.fupa.net/spieler/dominick-wynn-35808.html
'02 Christopher Scott is listed with Bayer Leverkusen U15s and Germany U15s. http://www.bayer04.de/B04-DEU/de/ka...uid=2063-39A7845C-E016-40D4-BAED-EF4B637C2DE3 http://datencenter.dfb.de/profil/37...de/u-15-junioren/team-und-trainer/?no_cache=1 OWTY says he is a Yank, as well as what is presumably his younger brother, '06 Michael Scott. No official confirmation they are Yanks.
Football Talents says '03 Tyron Haake of Werder Bremen U14 and '05 Dayo Salzmann of Hertha Berlin's academy (likely U12) are Yanks. This corroborates OWTY's listing of them, although there is no official confirmation yet. http://www.fussball-talente.com/Tyron_Leon_Haake-3_7-97250-1.html http://www.fussball-talente.com/Dayo_Salzmann-3_7-302912-1.html
'99 Jamie Leweling has just joined Greuther Fürth U17 from Nuremberg. OWTY says he's a Yank. https://www.greuther-fuerth.de/teams/nachwuchs/mannschaften/u17/
I think the next crop of German Americans in the younger age groups (like '99-'02) will mostly be coming from Bayern. They have a bunch of them, and many of them are apparently pretty good.
I don't know if anyone else has noticed it, but it seems the OWTY site is gone. I don't know if this is recent or what. The guy still has his twitter account up, but the site went away. It was very useful for information on American prospects, especially new dual-nats, so hopefully its just temporarily.
It looks like the site is being rebuilt. The home page says "The New OWTY Is Coming Soon" (although I cannot say how long that message has been up). http://www.owhentheyanks.com/
Here's a strange one. Darius Strode - just signed with Altona in Regionaliiga Nord (just promoted) Transfermarkt has him a USA (although he was born in Germany and has always played his soccer there......anyone know anything about him - is he really American?
Another YA in Germany (well maybe) Kouami Dalmeida has joined FSV Frankfurt in Regionaliiga Sudwest seems to have been around in the German lower league's for a while...any Info??
There are several posts in this thread about Strode. Unfortunately, none of them answer the question. He was in the USL for lower-division tryouts as recently as this season, which is some strong circumstantial evidence, but if my memory serves he was working with an agent who has placed other players here with no obvious U.S. connections. Basically, still up in the air. Good to know where he is, though. Altona has had a Yank or two, maybe more, in recent seasons.
OK through Google I found this guy in a report from FuPa - at Sandhausen U19. FuPa described him in the article as a German/American - a search of thr FuPa site came up empty (which is probably me doing something wrong) So I am looking for info on Jeanot Sola - who has just signed a contract with CfR Pforzheim in Oberliga Baden-Württemberg. He is a def-mid, no birth date, signed on July 1 any ideas on this guy?
There's some stuff on him earlier in this thread, but no resolution that I'm aware of. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/th...ive-work-thread.1987805/page-11#post-32264136
Found a few players searching through Fussballtalente database. Not sure whether they are American or not, but they are worth mentioning at least as possibilities. Stijn Pierie ('99)-Heerenveen. He's a defender. Brother is Kik who people seem to know about now. He's listed as American here, even though transfermarkt lists his two brothers as having been born in the USA and him in Netherlands. Maybe he's eligible another way for the USA. http://www.fussball-talente.com/Stijn_Pierie-3_7-348896-1.html Zorhan Bassong ('99)-Lille. He's a midfielder. Supposedly has French, Cameroonian, Canadian and either American or Belgian citizenship. He's been called in for Canada and Belgium before. Soccer Canada claims Belgian citizenship through his mother, Fussballtalente claims American citizenship, although they just say through a parent. Soccer Canada is probably right, but I'll list him. http://www.fussball-talente.com/Zorhan_Bassong-3_7-275716-1.html Bumping this, just to see if we got any update here. I found him when searching on the same website. He was a regular for Ingolstadt's U-19's this season. Titouan Guillou('01)-Auxerre. He's a goalkeeper, and on a Facebook page that might be his it says New York, New York, so there might be something to it. Found an article from August where he was listed on an Auxerre U-17 roster. http://www.fussball-talente.com/Titouan_Verron_Le_Guillou-3_7-321858-1.html Jeffrey "Jeff" Keil ('01)-Hertha Berlin. He's a goalkeeper listed on their U-16's, listed as a dual-nat. Transfermarkt and Hertha Berlin's website only has him as a German. http://www.fussball-talente.com/Jeffrey_Keil-3_7-266922-1.html Ethan Johnson ('02)-FC Basel. He's a goalkeeper listed at FC Basel. The official website doesn't list him anywhere, but I did find a news article that listed him on the team. I've seen no confirmation of his nationality. http://www.fussball-talente.com/Ethan_Johnson-3_7-335547-1.html Ryan Nick Harder ('03)-Eintracht Frankfurt. He's a defender/midfielder listed with the U-14's from last season. Transfermarkt only lists him as German, and I see no confirmation that he's American. http://www.fussball-talente.com/Ryan_Harder-3_7-320014-1.html Miles Colin Kapler ('04)-Schalke. He's a defender listed with their U-11's from last season, but I see no confirmation anywhere of what his nationality is. http://www.fussball-talente.com/Miles_Colin_Kappler-3_7-236585-1.html
The only one of these I know anything about is Bassong -- had a couple posts on him a while back. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/th...ive-work-thread.1987805/page-18#post-34731351 There's no obvious link to the U.S. that I can find though.
There's quite a bit of circumstantial evidence on the web to suggest '03 Tyron Haake of Werder Bremen is a Yank. Besides the Football Talents page, he has a Facebook page with his favorite sports team listed as US Soccer, and he had uploaded a photo of cleats which have a tiny US flag emblem and "Yedlin" in small letters on it. He has a Flipagram page which shows he was in the US attending a Houston Rockets basketball game. Furthermore, there's an obituary online for a man from Houston (don't feel like linking it here, out of respect) which shows that the man's only brother is also from Houston, and that the brother has three sons (nephews of the deceased) who all live in Germany, one of them being "Tyron Haake Byrd." I searched the other two names but there's no evidence they play soccer in an academy.
