Confirmada la transferencia desde HJK Helsinki. Tengo esperanzas de que le vaya bien, esto puede abrir un nuevo mercado para los futbolistas colombianos que a largo plazo les podría brindar la posibilidad de jugar en Inglaterra. Además va a poder jugar copas europeas constantemente. Firma por 3 temporadas.

I watched him closely when he played in HJK. Interesting to see how he does in Scotland. He was too good for the Finnish league. He's quite fast, he's strong, he has a good shot, good header, he can get past defenders and he can finish. He has no big weaknesses. The fans (and everybody else too) were excited about him.

The Finnish league sucks so it's not easy to say how good he really is, but he definitely has potential. 11 goals in 12 matches this season, not bad.

Just shocked as he did even better last season why the team that owned him
Just didn't bring him back or gave him a chance. 400k is what they sold him for then his finish team sold him for 1 million. Nacional would have paid way more then that after 6 months in Colombia.

His contract had an option that HJK could buy him if they wanted, and they used that option. His second season started better than his first one, it's just that they have played only half of the season so we don't know how many goals he would have scored. But it's clear he was the best striker in the history of the Finnish league.

I'm sure for a team from Finland is better to sell players to good European leagues rather than send them back to South America. Next time they are negociating with foreign players they can show that Finland is a good place to start a career in Europe and then move on to better leagues.

I think so. I don't remember anyone scoring in Finland like Morelos. Finland doesn't produce good players often so that doesn't mean much though.

Playing in Scotland is brutal. Very tough league physically and not enough skill.

I hope he survives all the kicking and bashing to the knees he is going to get.

yep. Its a crap league but there's a lot of physicality and its a good gateway to england. Im rooting for him to succeed. Seems he's changed a bit since leaving Colombia.

Very very true. Top 2-3 teams have enough to bring in some intl talent to play some prettier ball but with that said there have been some gifted players that have gone thru that league (Larsson, Nakamura, Caniggia, etc). But I also think he's gone thru the toughest part. Moving overseas where he's a complete outsider--food, language, culture, etc, could have sank him down but yet he took his chances very well. That's an ambitious mentality. Good for Morelos.

While the Finnish league isn't top either I like the fact that he probably played some crappy pitches, with horrible weather, which will feel very similar in Scotland. Also that league feeds into EPL and aspects like worker's visa/permit will also be much easier. I think it was the perfect transition. Someone mentioned it previously, this guy had a horrible U20 tournament couple years back right? I remember we used to get so frustrated with his play.

They were eliminated from the Europa League by a team from Luxembourg.

La verdad fue patético. Yo me vi mientras estuvo Morelos.

Scored two goals today. The header was nice, the second one just weird...

I was lurking in a Scottish forum just to see what they are saying about him and they all are giving him rave reviews and positive reactions. Saying things like he is a great wee little man who has good skill and good strength for his size. Also saying that they hit the jackpot and may be able to sell him for a high price tag if this keeps up.

I was looking for one Crzd-type of Scottish fan dude ripping him negatively but could not find one negative post about him.:p

Hope he keeps it up. He is obviously becoming a fan favorite.

I'm not surprised he's doing well. I think he has what it takes to play in a top 5 league.

Meh I think he should stay. Going to a top 5 league will be a failure. Perhaps Belgium or Celtic will be best for him. So he can get UEFA experience
