I'm about to bestow the worst offseason title to Dortmund if things play out as they are rumored. Not a fan of the coaching hire, either. @MatthausSammer

I have literally watched zero Ajax last season, so I can't speak to the coaching hire, but I can say it appears extremely underwhelming. I'd rather keep Tuchel, and if management still couldn't get along, his contrract would expire and then we'd try again for Nagelsmann. Balotelli seems like a really uncharacteristic move; we don't really acquire headcases and try to rehab them, that's not our style.

Aubameyang and Dembele possibly out the door. Reus recovering from yet another injury. Not a good start to the offseason IMO.

We'll have to see. I think we can survive Auba leaving; of course he's extremely good, but I'd like to think playing striker in Dortmund is a great situation to showcase your talent and be highly productive. There are young strikers out there who could replace a fair amount of his production. Not down at all with Balotelli as a potential replacement though; that's juat stupid. If no one could coach him into being a productive player who works hard to capitalize on his natural ability by now, no one is going to.

My 2 cents have Mexico winning group A with Russia coming in 2nd(the 'World's most Dangerous Man' Putin will strike fear in the Russians to play well:D) Germany will win group B with Chile coming in 2nd!! And in the semis Mexico will get revenge for their humiliating 7-0 loss in the Copa'16 and just like 76 years ago a German invasion of Russia will get mauled by the Russian bear!!! But Mexico will be too much for Russia to handle and will beat them 3-1 to win their 2nd Confed Cup since 1999!!! VIVA MEXICO!!!

    Group A

RUS 2-0 NZL, POR 0-1 MEX, RUS 2-1 POR, MEX 3-0 NZL, MEX 1-0 RUS, POR 2-0 NZL

    MEX: 9pts
    RUS: 6pts
    POR: 3pts
    NZL: 0pts

    Group B

GER 3-1 AUS, CHI 2-0 CAM, GER 2-1 CHI, AUS 1-1 CAM, CHI 2-0 AUS, GER 3-1 CAM

    GER: 9pts
    CHI: 6pts
    AUS: 1pt
    CAM: 1pt

    Semifinals:

    MEX 3-2 CHI
    GER 1-2 RUS

    Final:

    MEX 3-1 RUS

Awful prediction. While Germany will still be formidable, they are leaving some star players at home in lieu of giving an opportunity to younger talent. I think they stumble, possibly with Chile, and get ousted by the eventual group leaders in Group A.

What are your expectations for Germany, @MatthausSammer ?

Löw has said this is more of a tryout opportunity than a true tournament for Germany. He has said there's going to be a lot of rotation week-to-week trying out different players and combinations, and has stated that winning really isn't the top priority. I think there's talent in this squad and if the players are hungry and eager to impress we can do damage, but given the tone Jogi and company have set, I wouldn't be surprised if we put in something of a meek, disappointing performance filled with pretty out-there lineups as though we were playing friendles.

I like this goal review thing at CC but it needs improvement. Taking away from goal celebrations.

I mean Dani Alves need to win a WC himself before he start talking shit!! Listen I'm no Maradona water carrier, even though in 4 minutes he scored both the most INFAMOUS AND THE GREATEST GOAL of the WC history!! And it's ironic that the 2 WC's that Argentina won there was cheating behind it!! But Dani Alves need to look at the last WC we won in '02 because our Penta wasn't won by squeaky clean methods either!!

He doesn't need to win a WC to have an opinion. What kind of logic is that ?

Although his point does make him a bit of a hypocrite since he has been known to simulate fouls. What happened is that he got caught trying to defend Messi's all time player status since he hasn't won WC and made a comment he probably shouldn't have. That's all. I watched the whole interview.

Maradona chama Daniel Alves de 'idiota': 'Dá 28 cruzamentos, acerta quatro'

Well, that used to be true. :p

"Ele fala porque está em lugar do campo que não se joga futebol. Se toca a bola... É um escape do volante, que vai pela direita. E mais: se falamos de Rivellino, Clodoaldo, Gersinho, Careca, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Neymar, Rivaldo, Zico... Se falamos desses, aí sim, mas desse cara (Daniel Alves), que toca três vezes na bola e faz oito faltas por partida, vou embora", encerrou.

    :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

What do we have to do to get Maradona back as Argentinian NT coach? With a tactical outlook like that...

What I meant was if D. Alves was going to throw shade at Maradona for winning a WC, at least Maradona has won one!! And no D. Alves doesn't need a WC to have an opinion nor does anyone else!!

And comparing Messi to Maradona, until Messi wins the WC he will never have the same affection with the Argentine people as Maradona has!!

My 2 cents for the semifinals!! Chile is going to beat Portugal and shut Crissy Poo down 2-0 and tomorrow nothing is gonna give me greater pleasure than to watch Mexico whoop Germany's ass like they're whooping 11 Donald Trumps, 3-1!!! :D And in the Final Mexico will get revenge on Chile and beat them 4-2!! And I will prove @Mengão86 wrong by saying that me picking Mexico to win was an 'awful' prediction!!!:p
