Yes, Brian Reynolds (FCD), Marcello Palomino (most recently Houston but left them late summer), and Taylor Booth (RSL).

pffpfpoifpfpft.............Houston. Bewildering. Where did Palomino go? He's a good prospect. He's actually from Houston's homegrown territory, so its unlikely he can latch on to another MLS club.

I saw Taylor Booth a couple times. Very impressed with him. Easy to spot on the field because his hair is whacked out!!! Like a complete mess. :)

I don't know. I can't say that I know exactly how good Lederman is, but he has been on the fringes of the U-17 squad since this cycle started around December.

I don't remember him being on the roster for any of these minor youth tournaments. Maybe he's played a few friendlies, trains with the team, I couldn't tell you that, although it seems like that, but I do find it suspicious that he hasn't yet played in any of these tournaments. Could be his decision, he might on merit be a fringe player for this U-17 team or maybe he's being slighted by the U-17 coach's.

Between quitting Houston and going into residency, Marcelo was at Porto (so, brief). He's still officially unattached.

Not sure what you mean here. That the threads shouldn't be merged because the original one is 5 years old?

Oh I see, I read this thread after the merge. Very confusing.

Agree with you: it can definitely get confusing when threads get merged.

Not sure if US fans should celebrate his passport or fear it

Is he cap tied to the US? La Masia is too high profile, Poland will surely try to "poach" him

The dude is 16. He's nowhere close to being cap-tied to the US. He's not even provisionally cap-tied.

Having a Polish passport *may* not be enough to qualify him for Poland under FIFA rules... depends on where his grandparents (I'm assuming here) were born. And if he doesn't speak Polish, it's a less attractive option for either side.

(He could sign in Poland and then play 2 years there to get FIFA eligibility, but I'm betting against that happening).

Emmanuel Olisadebe didn't speak Polish but that didn't stop Poland from recruiting him once he got a Polish wife. They also tried to recruit Argentine striker Diego Klimowicz when they learned his Ukrainan grandfather was born in what was then Polish territory. Then you can look more recently at Pulisic and how Croatia attempted to poach him, and to my knowledge he speaks no Serbo-Croatian.

If Lederman continues to climb the ranks at Barcelona I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if Poland made a move for him. In fact, I couldn't blame them in the least for trying. But I'd also bet against him accepting. (actually, if he were to ditch the USA then I imagine he'd choose Israel before Poland.)

I didn't say they wouldn't, just that it is *less attractive* to both parties (including Lederman) that he doesn't. And, it's quite possible he isn't even eligible for Poland, despite the passport.

And Israel is a more likely option, yes.

Lets put it gently: usually there is not much love from prewar Jews toward Poland.

Unfortunately there is also too much anti-semitism in Poland in spite of there being very few left.

Why exactly have many written him off?
