Games 3-5 (in my mind) were pretty exciting for a neutral. To your other point, let's see what the bench looks like next season.

Maybe game 3 and game 5. Thats it.

Watching down the stretch, LeBron did not score enough. Ill advised 3pointers knowing he's not a shooter and he wasnt hot.

He had Klay Thompson posted up and opted for a fade away. This is just one of a handful of questionable plays on offense.

For someone who is supposed to be at his best facilitating, LeBrons ball handling should come into question. When hes guarded by guys with his physical profile, he fails to show he can create space off the dribble.

He missed quite a few defensive assignments. He also showed a lack of effort wrt transition defense on more than a couple occasions.

Blaming Lebron has got to be the stupidest thing ive ever seen. The guy has had 3 of the most impressive playoff finals performances ever seen back-to-back-to-back and people still claim he didnt do enough. Yet, Kobe can go 6-24 in a Finals game 7 and have his team bail him out, and people praise him as this great conquering hero. Madness.

If Kyrie Irving was half as good OVERALL as everyone loves to say he is, they win this series.

In other words, look at other guys.

I agree with you on Lebron, but what else did you want to see from Kyrie?

Cavs were shot at the end of each half last night so they made mistakes on defense and weren't as aggressive on offense. I really do think they tried to coast that last month of the regular season and the playoffs and maybe it cost them. Because when they are firing on all cylinders they're massively overpowering but they ran out of steam against a team that can match that firepower. And the Cavs really hadn't been tested until the Finals (yeah I know, everyone thinks the Warriors had it just as easy, we'll just have to agree to disagree).

I guess my point is that in the CBA the sides are constantly trying to prevent superstars from teaming up but when the only leverage is the salary cap and those stars are literally eschewing tens of millions of dollars for a chance at a ring, what leverage do you really have? That's why I really think Adam Silver needs to do away with the conferences in the playoffs. Make 1 through 16 match up based on record with no reseeding, then you'll at least practically guarantee that the semifinals are compelling matchups.

LeBron is the one who got people like Tristan Thompson and JR Smith contract extensions.

Outside of Shumpert, the worst 2 players for either side.

You can blame Lebron, in a roundabout way. By being so dominant he ruined the NBA.

Because, the Warriors and KD realized that Lebron is so good that they figured the one way they could manage to beat him was by joining forces. And here we are...

The same? I think it will be even better. Steph and KD finally figured out how to play together. :)

Yeah, because they struggled so mightly this season. I mean, the Spurs aren't getting any younger - and with the way Aldridge performed these playoffs, you wonder if they even have a shot.

Without any drastic changes in the NBA (or injury) I think we'll be looking at a pretty similar season.

And I get what you were going for.

This is nitpicking at it's finest. The man is the smartest player in the NBA, he knows what he's doing. Does that excuse him from the occasional lazy play? No, but the man did everything he could.

Blowing a few defenisive assignments? On a team that has Irving, Thompson and JR Smith? Limiting probably the most unstoppable scorer on a team that has so much firepower takes it's toll. I'm not trying to excuse him, but the people just love to hate on Lebron.

I don't know - Irving was playing some good basketball. I think it's the supporting cast that was a no-show in these Finals. I'm talking about Thompson, Smith and Love. I even listened to an interview from one of the Warrior players, who said something along the line that they know they can't stop the two best players so their focusing on limiting the rest of the cast.

I'm not trying to defend Kyrie's defensive play, but I think this has to be pointed out. On a team, that has so many great shooters and so many versatile guys who are willing to share the ball, can you really stop them? I think Kyrie matched Curry's offensive output, but there's no chance in hell that the Cavs can match the Warriors defensively.

I mean people are even questioning Lebron's defensive skill after these Finals.

It's not a problem that they got those contract extensions (or who gave it to them), rather that they just underperformed. They've shown that they could be counted on to win a chip, but in this series? Got to step up.

Also, I can't even begin to describe how good of a coach Kerr has been. Every decision he's made up until now has made this team better. Just forget the talent for a bit. The way he neutralized Thompson on the offensive board was genius.

Also this is my last post on this subject - I hate what people are calling a superteam. The Celtic's weren't a superteam, the Miami Heat weren't a superteam and the Cavs aren't a superteam. The Warriors on the other hand are really a superteam.

The main difference is that while those teams seemed to be so much better on paper, they rarely stood out on the court. I'm talking about this pure dominance we've seen in these playoffs. Never has a team dominated so hard. We might've picked those teams as favourites, but you always knew there was a shot that they might not make it. With this Warriors team? No freaking way.

When a team has 1 star player they're a playoff contender, when they have 2 they're a pretty good team, when they have 3 they're a serious title contender and when they have 4 they're a superteam.

Honestly, you are excusing him. I told you why i wasn't happy with him.

It is a fact that people love to hate LeBron. Sorry but that doesnt mean some of the complaints arent valid.

    ___<<__<<<<<<<<<<<_____

Lebron has holes in his offensive game. Over the course of his career its been evident in his most testing moments. All the other greats have at least 1 money move. 1 go to move to ooen things up for themselves or their team. What's Lebrons?

We all know Jordan and Kobe have a repertoire of moves and counter moves.

Hakeem had the dream shake. Timmy had the turn around bank shot or the drive right hook/teardrop/leaner. Paul Pierce fades away at the top of the key or elbow. Khawi has the post fade away after 2 dribbles. Hardens step back. Dirk's one legged fade away. Durant has mastered plenty of these moves.

    Whats Lebrons move?

So if I'm getting this right, you're saying he's limited offensively, because he doesn't have any offensive ''go to'' move? The dude that was averaging 35 points per game in the Finals? We're not talking about 2007 Lebron anymore. This is the most complete player we've ever seen and people are still poking holes in his game. Even his jumper and three point shooting, that everyone is still pointing out, isn't great, was exceptional in these playoffs. I've yet to see a team stop him. Even when he supposedly limited by Iguodala and Kawhi in those Finals loses, he still managed to put up the most impactful stat line on his team.

Adding to the fact, out of all the best players in NBA history, he's probably up there with Magic Johnson in getting your teammates involved and making them better. Evident by his numbers of assists.

I'd get calling him out for the occasional lazy play and what not, but man you people are reaching hard.

How was this a shit season?
You had Celtics win the 1st seed and 1st pick with Isaiah having the best year of his career. A massive Wizards comeback, a 3-team fight for the last spots of the playoffs until the last game of the season. A battle of MVP's in Westbrook and Harden, a battle for the first seed in the Warriors vs Spurs, Jazz & Nuggets surprising people. Sixers being their fun selves. And despite the Warriors 12-0 and the Cavs 12-1 record, the rest of the series were great.
Oh, and this year's finals? The most watched since 1998...

    You are getting it wrong.

I said he has holes in his offensive game. That's completely different from what you are accusing me of saying.

I think it's fair to criticize Lebron without saying it's in any way his fault. There is plenty of blame to go around - the coach seem weak, the supporting cast was poor, Love is a very weak third star and a terrible matchup for a hyper-athletic smallish Finals, Lebron rightly was gassed by second halfs and I think should probably be rested more a la Popovic even though he says he's against it, and I think Lebron needs to a) be more selfish more, b) attack the basket more rather than kicking out for 3s, and c) settle for jumpers less. But on the list of reasons they lost, everything is way down below the number 1 reason - they had less talent - and Lebron is probably not even close to #2.

Question for y'all - without KD - who takes this series?

Cleveland in 6. With the ability to double team more effectively it changes a lot.

Agreed on Lebron driving more. The last 3-4 shots he made was him essentially backing into Klay/Iggy and either dunking or having an easy lay up. He literally could do that all day long. Perhaps it's very tiring to do so, but I don't know.

W/out KD, it would depend if Dubs had exactly the same team as last year (Barnes, Barbosa, Speights...etc...). Hard to say given how close Dubs got last year.

I'll give you game 3, but after that we knew who would ultimately be champions so that takes most of the excitement out of it (even if the games themselves, if viewed in a vacuum, were quite entertaining).

The NBA is a lot like Spain's La Liga now. Except the playoffs make it significantly worse since, unlike in La Liga, there's nothing realistic that can happen in the 6-month "regular" season that would change the championship picture - not even to the point of who gets home advantage in the Finals matchup.

That doesn't say much, since games nowadays are more accessible, hence the more people viewing it. I'm sure if it goes to 7 games, the number would be even higher.
