might as well get this one going. i'll add pics and whatnot later http://www.skysports.com/football/n...ree-deal-to-sign-victor-lindelof-from-benfica i like the age profile of the two starting CBs because we can easily have them for 10 years or more. the costs of Bailly at £30m and Lindelöf at a reported €35m respectively are good. thoughts? hopes?
Best defender available for his price and age category, to get a better/more established defender we would have had to spend 60 m plus.
The Beeb is quoting £31mil. Not a bad deal at all for a CB, who should prove an excellent partner to Beastmode down the line. He should the Ying to Bailly's Yang in many respects
He does have a tinge of Val Kilmer looking at him at times... Iceman and Beastmode: fitting combo. Bye bye Smalling almost for certain now.
If it weren't for Jones horrible injury history, I believe he might have fetched more than Smalling possibly, but at this time, Smalling has the be the guy who will land us the biggest sum. And as much as I was fine with him staying before, being a backup doesn't appear like it will suit him (just a hunch) and would rather see him start anew somewhere else.
I'm just happy to be going into the season knowing the first choice CB pairing for the first time since SAF.
I think we will know the first choice 11 except for possibly 1 position. (Lb) Once we figure out the primary formation.
not that one video makes him an expert but we could use more free kick prowess. you'd think we'd already have a decent amount here but we don't really show it. that and our apparent height advantage
Havent seen much of him (a half here or there since we've been heavily linked, but what I've seen looks good. My favorite bit about the video here comes at 345 when everyone is calling for offside, he is tracking the runner. He looks a natural passer with both feet. A little grabby but seems to read the game well enough. Dives in a lot tho.
