I don't know the ins and outs of player movement between Ascenso MX and Liga MX, but it appears that Rodrigo was just taken by Liga's Toluca FC in a draft of Ascenco MX players. *Edit: Wikipedia refers to it as a loan, but somehow a draft is involved.
