Here's the map of TM outlets in Mex that have will call pickup. I believe it is up to the day before.....day of is stadium only...I believe. http://tmespeciales.ticketmaster.com.mx/CentrosTM/
I've gotten like three emails that appear to suggest I pick them up prior to gameday. I'm going to try hitting an outlet close to our hotel on Wednesday or Thursday. I don't see it as a big deal either way unless you expect to get to the stadium at the last minute.
yep agreed, if you are in town the day before, makes sense just to pop into the local TM office. If not, day of game at the stadium (and wait in a line, etc). either way will work.
I'll be there with some Mexican friends. I'll be wearing very generic clothes and internally cheering if USA scores. This is a bucket list game for sure. Does anyone know Azteca well enough to tell me what section "PAS1" refers to? That's what our tickets say but I can't figure out where that is. I paid a pretty penny (for Mexico) for the ticket so it better be nice.
Was able to find 1 ticket, still need 2 more tickets for this weekends game. Let me know if you have any and your asking price.
Anyone know any details about the security policy at Azteca? Ive heard belts are not allowed but I dont remember this being an issue 4 years ago. I did have my luchador mask confiscated though.
From https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...estadio-azteca-cant-miss-american-soccer-trip: Dan Wiersema, who handles communications for American Outlaws, notes that this year’s allotment of 400 travel packages sold out, adding, “There has been unprecedented interest and excitement around this away trip. We probably could've sold out twice.” 400 packages (tickets?) for AO plus those for the various USSF luxury packages left how many tickets available unbundled for USSF members? Magic Eight Ball says, "Not many." See you Sunday at Estadio Azteca Will Call.
I'm not 100% but I believe the travel agency went directly to the Mexican ticketing agent for the package. Also funny that I know all but one guy quoted in that article.
It really is great to see the increased away travel support. I know we all have our frustrations with certain things, but this really is a great time to be a US away fan.
you heard BELTS are not allowed? WTF, you've got to be kidding me! There's no way they're going to take everybody's belt away from them when they enter the stadium.
Anyone picking up their tickets in the airport? Particularly, terminal 2 Gandhi shop? The TM Mex link says 'will call' there but no selling football tickets. Hope this works.
Indeed, it does appear that belts are not allowed according to the home page of Estadio Azteca. https://www.estadioazteca.com.mx/eventos/seguridad/
thanks for the link; it says "very large or thick" belt BUCKLES, not that all belts are banned! There's a big difference! So if you have a big huge heavy cowboy belt buckle that could be used a weapon, they might not let you in with it. But any normal belt is going to be fine.
I was just about to post the same question, since I haven't received anything yet in the mail. I know they often cut it close.....
Looks like intl arrivals will be in terminal 1 and from a quick Google search, it looks like it's a pain in the ass to get from 1 to 2 without a boarding pass for a flight there. Might try to check it out anyway.
didn't even think to look at TM outlets at the airport, nice find. did hear that T1 to T2 transfer is a pain, let us know if anyone is successful.
You should have no problems. I picked up tickets at the Gandhi in Centro Historico in 2009. I missed the T2 Gandhi option when I used the TM map function a few weeks ago. (I had a vague recollection of a Gandhi shop at the airport.) I arrive in Terminal 1 on Sunday AM, which is great for Metro access. Terminal 2 is more difficult. The free monorail between the terminals is theoretically only for departing passengers with some sort of documentation (itinerary, boarding pass...) although we snuck through in 2013 by just trying. My wife told me they clamped down when she subsequently visited there without me. I think there is a cheap bus between the terminals that may include a stop at a metro station. I read that the Pantitlan station is an easy walk from T2, although I have never done it. I was going to check it out on this trip, but, fortunately, I arrive on Aeromexico at Terminal 1 and depart on Monday from Terminal 2. I think that day of game will call is only at the venue box office, so I'm stuck with an early arrival at Estadio Azteca. I hope people share their TM/MX will call experiences here. If anyone successfully picks up tickets Sunday at a retail location, please do tell. It will probably be easier for you to use a TM retail location in town, near wherever you stay, than trek between the terminals. The Gandhis and Liverpools anywhere should issue you tickets. The arrival terminal depends on the airline, and I think Aeromexico uses both. I have arrived, gone through customs/immigration at both terminals, most recently at T2 with Aeromexico on my connection between Panama City and my flight to SFO in late March. You may actually arrive at T2. Check with you airline.
I got a UPS update yesterday that I will be receiving a package from US Soccer Federation today (6/6). I'm assuming this is my tickets.
Yet another reminder email from TM/MX got me to the information about the Gandhi in T2: "Nota: Este módulo se encuentra en la sala de espera de la Terminal 2.Acceso únicamente con pase de abordar" The kiosk/shop is in the post-security screening waiting area of the terminal, so really only accessible to departing or connecting passengers. International arrivals will go through immigration/customs without access to the air side shopping area.
