typical Wenger signing. Never heard of him. Probably a decent player. Is he coming over on a free since he's coming when his contract ends?
If you add whatever Roma paid us for the loan it's probably not bad...unless he becomes the next Buffon.
He's coming from Schalke, dude. Not exactly the French third tier, this. He appears to profile as a younger, bigger Monreal: better in the air, but fouls a bit too often. Monreal v Kolasinac 16/17 [@FussballRadars] pic.twitter.com/91aPKA1UTp— g (@1GAFC) April 14, 2017
supposedly Xhaka was meant to be quality, but we will see. i know it's a different player, but then we should get our business done early for a change.
Xhaka is a good player. He was used poorly by Wenger. People are overreacting because of his terrible fouls. Having said that it's his reputation that seems to get him in those situations. If he was British the media would say "he just wants it more". Xhaka really came good in the second half of the season give him time mate. (Tbf I even criticized him)
I know, nd I rate Xhaka. Just I've been watching peopel like ArsenalFanTV and seeing others online say that they have mates in Germany who rate him. The same was said about Xhaka.
He was pretty uniformly rated as either the best or second-best left back in the Bundesliga this season.
So who says they are not there, since Wenger promised him to take him to a good restaurant he frequented when he managed Monaco?
For longer than that. In the FA cup final he was absolutely immense. Looked like the player Wenger wanted all along. He had the highest passer rating. Beating out Mesut.
As an individual roster move Kolasinac is a good pick up, so I appreciate that as a business deal. Arsenal are now stronger in one position. As has happened before, though, this move is born of convenience and circumstance while not necessarily addressing a priority need for the team. So, kudos for the first move, now please move onto positions with bona fide weaknesses.
I do wonder what they are there for. By normal Arsenal timelines, if they are negotiating with anyone, he should be an Arsenal player by August 15, the latest.
Left back was a glaring weak spot this season. I'm assuming that we're going to revert to a back four next season, and the tandem of Monreal and Gibbs isn't up to par. It's not at the same level as, say, a ********ing central midfielder, but it's getting there.
Suit yourself. I personally don't recall coming away from games thinking we lost points due to Monreal, but I did that with a handful of other positions. Regardless, if the team is stronger then that's great. Still not a title contender, though.
