DC now knows its first opponent, and it's Christos FC of Baltimore, the only amateur side left in the tournament. June 13 at the Soccerplex. The team is named after a liquor store. DC will be coming off of a ten-day rest.
Can't wait to ride the Jubal A. Early over and wind through the backroads to the stealth tailgate area. Dear DCU: the ferry doesn't run late so please do not pull your usual SoccerPlex/USOC trick of going into extra time and PKs, you force me to drive way too fast to be able to get home and I don't much appreciate the stress from the whole affair. Thanx for listening
I'll be teaching that night. A pity--I haven't been to a Soccerplex game in years and otherwise I'd try and make this.
It's happened a few times. Cal FC beat Portland and Dallas Roma beat Chivas USA. I think there have been others too.
Rode the ferry on Saturday as part of a 180 mile round trip ride on my Vespa GTS. Our group went through Point of Rocks to Harpers Ferry, had lunch, worked over to Leesburg and down to the ferry. Most of our rides into Maryland and Virginia involve at least one crossing on the ferry. Just peaceful crossing the river.
Does anyone have a historical list of scores for DCU games at the 'Plex? I don't recall a ton of goals there. I know some of you stats geeks have this ionfo handy on a spreadsheet somewhere. I may only remember the dire ones that made me the most nervous
Usually if we get tix thru a supporters group, they just have them near the side gate. But I think the email i got after my order said DCU would email them. I hate emailed/office-paper-sized tickets, I much prefer a ticket-sized ticket-weighted ticket. If they're emailing them, they had better get a move on
In years past, the club has set up a will call near the entrance. A friend has ordered for a group of us, so I don't know what the set up is this year. Like FB, I prefer a real ticket. I don't even have a working printer now. I've saved all my tickets since '96. Why should I change now?--says the old fart. asitis
I doubt it will be. Ft. Lauderdale was a NASL (or USL?) team, and all their games are streamed, IIRC. Any pbp, or game summary will be appreciated.
Is there a stream? I don't have great reception out here camping in KY, but I don't see a stream on DC's website.
