Asked on why he took him first and not Murdoch, Satan said that "he had to choose the lesser of two evils"...

It's always worth checking The Onion on a day like today

    NEWS IN BRIEF 5.18.17
Hundreds Of Miniature Sean Hannitys Burst From Roger Ailes’ Corpse
    [IMG]
PALM BEACH, FL—Clawing over each other and gasping for air as they emerged, hundreds of miniature Sean Hannitys reportedly burst from Roger Ailes’ corpse Thursday shortly after the former Fox News CEO’s death. “At first, one little hand broke through his skin, and then dozens and dozens of Sean Hannitys just erupted out of Roger’s chest cavity,” said one witness, adding that the cacophony caused by the two-inch-tall, mucus-covered Hannitys screeching right-wing talking points drowned out every other sound in the room. “They were suddenly everywhere, shrieking about the war on Christmas, paid protesters, and coddled, crybaby liberals on college campuses. One of the nasty little things even scampered up the wall and started gnawing on the doorframe. And, my Lord, they just smelled so foul.” At press time, the miniature Sean Hannitys were ravenously devouring Ailes’ corpse.

    Zbigniew Brzezinski, 89

    http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...policy-thinker-zbigniew-brzezinski-dies-at-89

Following his work in the White House, Brzezinski continued to be an influential voice on foreign policy matters. He served as a counselor and trustee at the Center for Strategic and International Studies and a professor at Johns Hopkins University.

Brzezinski "graded" the foreign policies of the three presidents that followed Reagan, telling NPR that he would give George H.W. Bush a B, Bill Clinton a C and George W. Bush an F.

In 2006, he strongly criticized the George W. Bush administration's war effort in Iraq and the wider idea of a "war on terror," which he told NPR was a "demagogic slogan."

"We're dealing with a bunch of fanatics," he told All Things Considered. "We're dealing with some truly fundamentalist haters of the West. We're dealing with some outraged ethnic and nationalist feelings. But to elevate this into a global ideological collision indirectly somehow reminiscent of the 20th century struggle with Nazis and/or communism is an absurdity which either reflects profound ignorance or a totally manipulative desire to use public anxiety for political purposes."

    Frank Deford died.

This combined with Roger Ailes dying means 2017 is making up for killing all those people that people actually like...

    Panamanian Strongman™ Manuel Noriega, 83.

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/30/...column-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

He craved power and became a tyrant,” Mr. Koster and Mr. Sánchez wrote in laying out Mr. Noriega’s ultimate undoing. “He craved wealth and became a criminal. And the careers came in conflict.”

Mr. Noriega’s two-facedness was known to the American authorities. But they saw him as useful in their efforts to maintain influence in Panama at a time of political instability and leftist uprisings in Central America. He provided, for one thing, an important listening post in the region.

He grew more belligerent, however, and by 1989 American patience had run out. Lawmakers in Washington, some of them worried about the coming turnover of the canal to Panama, began asking more questions about his ties to drug traffickers. Opposition in Panama had also grown, ignited in large measure by the torture and murder in 1985 of Dr. Hugo Spadafora, a longtime critic who had publicly accused Mr. Noriega of being in league with Colombian drug cartels.

    Dick Gregory

    330px-Dick_Gregory.jpg

Gregory was, perhaps, the first famous black comedian and a man who certainly inspired both Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor. According to one report that I just read, while not the first black performer to be on the Jack Paar show, he was the first one invited "to the couch" to have a conversation with Paar. He ended up appearing on the show over 20 times.

But Gregory was more than that, he was a true leader of the civil rights movement. He marched at Selma, participated in Freedom Summer, helped integrate college classrooms following Brown, and was shot in the leg during one protest. But more than that, he showed up for the little events. If you read first person accounts as diverse as Mary King, Anne Moody and James Forman, Gregory showed up at the recruitment meetings and kickoff campaigns. He counselled Robert Moses after the murders of Goodman, Chaney and Schwerner, and he did door-door voter registration. He did the work, and while he used his fame when it was beneficial, he didn't hide behind it.

Oh, and he was pretty funny.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I understand there are a good many Southerners in the room tonight. I know the South very well. I spent twenty years there one night.

Last time I was down South I walked into this restaurant and this white waitress came up to me and said, "We don't serve colored people here." I said, "That's all right. I don't eat colored people. Bring me a whole fried chicken."

Then these three white boys came up to me and said, "Boy, we're giving you fair warning. Anything you do to that chicken, we're gonna do to you." So I put down my knife and fork, I picked up that chicken and I kissed it. Then I said, "Line up, boys!"

    Mr Gregory was 84.
