A question for USSF member purchasers: "Did you get an indication in what section the tickets are?" Ticketmaster MX still has tickets if the USSF sale fell through.
ok, got my 1 through USSC (thanks a lot a-holes), and then got 4 on ticketmaster, Alto Sur. As the biggest supporter of USSC, this is a tad frustrating to say the least.
The site is super wack. I could only by 1 as well, but didn't as I was trying other browsers. Most of the time it said nothing available. I wonder as it logs through TM it knows I already have 3. Brian, good man. I'm transiting with the NYC crew, so doesn't make sense to book a tailgate I may not make it to.
The USSF tailgate info: Pre-Match Tailgate Ticket - All Inclusive Pre-Match Tailgate Party at Jardin Azteca prior to the start of the match. Ticket includes food, beer, wine, spirits, soda and/or water. Start time of Tailgate is TBD. Transportation to and from the party is not included as part of this ticket. -All Taxes and Fees -On-Site Travel Directors Single:$80.00
I tried to get mine - all I wanted was 1 and couldnt get it - just getting a message saying "This item currently does not have available tickets for purchase with this promo code". Not happy at all. Anyone happen to have a spare they want to sell on for any reason please let me know. So to edit, I was still able to go over to the Mexican Ticketmaster and get a ticket - in Alto Sur as per what everyone else has been saying so - Sección ALSU11 Fila 1 Asiento 3 Anyone know if that matches up with the away section? Also, I would still be happy to purchase a ticket in the US supporters section. NOT happy about this, I assume the only reason I'm didnt get anything was because when they reset the system I dropped down to a regular member as the wiped out all the games I went to, but I've been going to games for years, including away to Italy, Slovakia, Bosnia, Netherlands, Germany, etc. and never had an issue with getting a ticket. OK, I have a ticket, but this is def one where I dont think I want to be sitting in an isolated section on my own.
bummer sorry many. That's first come first serve works well if you are first in line. I was 45 minutes late to the party, and looks like i may have gotten one of the last ones.... I did just pivot over to ticketmaster.mx and grab 4 extras there. Alto Sur section, pick 'otra pais' and setup for willcall. I do have 'angry' email into my USSC peeps and not sure what their response is, if they have extras i'll be sure to post them.
Its just frustrating that I've gotten bumped down into the 11AM ticket avaialbility slot which if you are right on the timing means none were available at that time. As you can see I did the same and bought in ALTO SUR so at least I have something. Just frustrating for someone who has gone to pretty much every European friendly since 2010 (I'm based in London) so this will be the only match I see all year unless the November international date gets filled with a away European friendly (Serbia or Iceland maybe as they have done us favours as being the opposition in the last two Jan camps and we often give those teams a return at some point).
"the reason it was only allowing you to purchase one (1) ticket is because that is all there was available at the time. The maximum was four (4) and we’ve had Members purchase that amount. Due to limited inventory, tickets went quickly and we were down to just some single tickets left."
Competing for all inclusive luxury package ticket leftovers. What a drag. The Ticketmaster MX safety valve was handy. Saved me a few pesos as well. I sure hope the US Section is in the top deck, as anticipated.
Mine are ALSU5B. I don't get why it's impossible to find numbered sections of Azteca anywhere on the internet.
It may be that the upper level of the stadium is general admission by side and the Ticketmaster section designations are just placeholders to keep track of which tickets have been sold. In 2013, the concourse outside the visiting section was fully blocked off from the rest of the stadium (a fence on one end and a line of police blocking the other side). Same thing up in the seats themselves. What I can't recall is whether we had to show the police our tickets (which were in that section) or if they just let us through since we were wearing our USA gear. We entered the stadium separately from the police-escorted AO bus group. My guess is they'd rather have all the US fans in one place, no matter what their tickets say.
According to AO Facebook: "1. If you're looking to sit with your fellow AO Fam or other US fans, we are all in Alto Sur (Baby Blue, Cabecera Sur (Visitante). Don't worry about seat number and rows and all that. They throw us all in the same section for "protection"."
NYC Crew charted 3 buses at $30 a head rolling 120 strong. we bought our tickets a week ago on the advice of USSSC. We will pregame at our hotel as and on the ride over see ya at Azteca
I will have an email for USSSC when I return from Azteca, They was told in advance I would have 100+ people rolling on our buses and they were less than helpful
That's correct. You can have tickets in any section in the stadium and they will sit you with the rest of the US fans. Unless you want to sit in the seats you purchased...
How is everybody getting down to the Stadium and back? My buddy and I have our tickets and our hotel room booked, but can't bring ourselves to pay the $200 for the AO bus. From talking to friends of friends who live in Mexico City, the metro isn't the greatest idea for the game itself. We're kind of at a loss on what to do.
The Metro/Light Rail combo is great, especially if you go early. The Light Rail requires a pre-paid transit card, which is easy to buy and load with funds. The card is good for more than one user per ride. We used it for three or four people in 2013. Post match, the Light Rail/Metro is super crowded, but manageable with some patience. I survived (hell, thrived) in 2005, 2009 and 2013, and we plan on using it again on June 11th.
