TFC might appreciate the increased rest late in the season, but man their schedule right now is awful. Four games in 11 days, followed by six days off, then another four games in 12 days because of the Canadian Championship. Eight games total in the month of May. I suspect Columbus will be a hard fought game, but hopefully they can pick up 3 points and rest a few starters for Minnesota, like they did with Seattle.
The 2017 Amway Canadian Championship continues tonight. Qualifying Round, 2nd Leg Wednesday, May 10 FC Edmonton (NASL) v. Ottawa Fury (USL) 9:00 pm I think it can be watched at this link: https://www.youtube.com/c/canadasoccertv/live Ottawa won the first leg, 1-0. The winner advances to face Toronto in the semifinals starting on May 23.
I have joined this thread the last 4 weeks and didn't watch any games, except the Union. Life getting in the way and whatnot. I totally intend to watch more than the Union this week. I mean, let's face it, would you want the only game you watched all week to be DCU and the Union? I didn't think so.
You want me to sit in 83 degree bright sunshine and watch this crap team? I'm going to broil but since I've already paid for the ticket, ok. Though I bet I'm one of few with tickets on the East side of the stadium who do.
I look forward to the Sounders pass the ball around at midfield, garner 80%-90% passing rates and 60%-70% possession, but be completely inept in the final third and end up just send cross after cross after cross into Chicago's box and hope that someone in green gets on the end of the cross.. Oh, and "goalpost" will garner at least one save.
Villa a no show, Kamara, a no show, Giovinco, a no show. This is a common theme with big names not coming to play vs. Columbus in Columbus. That said..............Oh Columbo!
Higuain "is the water lily on the Monet" according to Dwight Burgess. That's an evocative description. I am sorry I can't photoshop that image onto Higuain in the midfield.
If anyone is wondering why he isn't playing - Giovinco is out with an ankle bruise. Sitting him out as a precautionary measure, and he should be ready for Minnesota in a few days.
