We did this last cycle leading up to the World Cup. It's probably best to try and keep this thread limited to players that are in Arena's pool, or at least players that Arena has mentioned in the press... @Andy_B started us off with Brooks...
Yedlin close to returning ... "Yedlin, 23, was in uniform Monday but did not play. He was enjoying a terrific stretch at right back until an injury sidelined him for five weeks, a period that included two World Cup qualifiers. The former Seattle Sounder has appeared in 25 of 44 league matches (19 starts). https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...ream-or-williams-next/?utm_term=.842f04c97f63
Missed that, thanks, although it seems relevant that he didn't play Monday. There's back, and then there's all-the-way back.
Fun fact that everyone knows: Jozy Altidore has missed the 2011 Gold Cup, 2014 WC, 2015 GC and 2016 CA due to hamstring injuries. Someone get him to start doing yoga.
last year in Toronto they said they found and hopefully finally solved his problem in that area of his body. He has not been hurt since that fix but I still feel like it is going to happen at the worst time.
one positive way to look at this is that he might be available for the Gold Cup if he recovers ==================== Nats Abroad @NatsAbroad 2h2 hours ago Nats Abroad Retweeted Tottenham Hotspur Carter-Vickers unlikely to play again this season and so his chances of joining the U20s for the WC in 3 weeks grow slim. Major blow if so
Actual news: Jordan Morris continues to deal with his ankle injury suffered on March 19 . . . https://www.soundersfc.com/post/201...2016-mls-cup-final-rematch-against-toronto-fc Sounders forward Jordan Morris also finds himself on the mend this week after aggravating an ankle injury against New England that he first tweaked in Seattle’s 3-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls on March 19. Morris didn’t train with the team on Monday, but Schmetzer said he hopes to have the services of the 2016 MLS Rookie of the Year come Saturday as well. “He’ll probably play because he’s a tough kid,” Schmetzer said or Morris. “We’ll just keep our fingers crossed it doesn’t happen again.”

Jermaine Jones was subbed out before half time with a knee injury suffered after he awkwardly fell after getting hit in the face with a ball from in close. No word yet on the severity.

Jones news (not good for JJ) . . Jermaine Jones could miss next set of USMNT World Cup qualifiers with knee injury http://www.starsandstripesfc.com/20...e-injury-la-galaxy-usmnt-world-cup-qualifying Barring an accelerated timeline for his recovery, this would likely rule him out for the next two World Cup qualifiers against Trinidad & Tobago (June 8) and Mexico (June 11). This would leave a hole open in the midfield for someone else to fill. Candidates for that spot next to Michael Bradley in the midfield could include Kellyn Acosta, Dax McCarty, and Alejandro Bedoya just to name a few. Jermaine Jones has 69 international caps to his name and has performed at a very high level at several high profile tournaments in his career. However, there are emerging concerns that we’ve reached the expiration date of his international career, at least with him being a focal point of every important lineup.
Horrible injury news for Gedion Zelalem at the U20 World Cup. Report: U.S. U-20 midfielder Zelalem to miss nine months after rupturing ACL http://sbisoccer.com/2017/05/report...lalem-to-miss-nine-months-after-rupturing-acl This was a "shop window" kinda tournament for Gedion, as a good showing could have earned him a nice move away from Arsenal.
That sucks for Geddy. It's a real pisser. He was hurt when an Ecuadoran forward crashed into his knee from the side, in the box. very recklessly. His knee collapsed inward. He was down for a while. He resumed play, but landed weird a few minutes later and was carted off. But, it was on that play in the box where his knee was wrecked.
Timmy has a hamstring injury... http://www.espnfc.us/united-states/...leaves-us-training-camp-with-hamstring-injury
Zimmerman with an MCL strain. Out 4-6 weeks. [Looked like it could have been a lot worse at the time. This is good news.] It certainly clouds the picture in terms of his Gold Cup involvement. http://www.bigdsoccer.com/2017/5/30/15714196/walker-zimmerman-injury-mcl-strain
Isn't Carter Vickers playing in U20 WC? I swear he got ketchup and Mustard last pool game from a card happy official.
Jermaine Jones returned to light training for LA Galaxy on Tuesday, and Curt Onalfo stated that there is a "possibility" that Jones could be available for their match against DC United on Sunday. https://www.lagalaxy.com/post/2017/05/30/curt-onalfo-provides-update-jermaine-jones-insider I suspect that if Jones is healthy enough to return for LA Galaxy, then Arena will call him in.
