UP THE OWLS! Hoping both Burtion Albion and Huddersfield Town have great results this weekend as well...
those aren't the last two. in addition to those, they have Fulham at Hillsborough on 7 May to finish the season.
Leeds pissing it all away. Wednesday two points from safety. As good as it looks, though, when you look at the fixtures, it's definitely not in the bag. Both of theirs are winnable, and both of Wednesday's losable ... and if those four all go wrong, they're guaranteed to be passed by both Fulham and Leeds. and just one point from any of Huddersfield's three remaining games would leave Wednesday 7th. not likely, of course, but it'd be nice to put it all to bed at Ipswich.
great result today. it's too bad we had that poor run of form last month or we'd be comfortably ahead of reading in third and threatening to overtake newcastle for the auto promotion spot.
one more game, though we can't go worse than 5th. honestly, of the 4 teams currently in the playoffs, it looks like a total crapshoot for who will win promotion... though based on our recent form, i like to think we'd have the edge.
crikey, for someone who goes to the trouble to post tables all the time, you think you'd take the time to learn to read them.
Well, it goes like this, espnfc didn't have the schedule going past this weekend. That may have changed by now. Because of that I thought the season was over. But 45 games didn't seem right. Then I went to sky sports and got the answer I was looking for. So we are 4th now, but that cold change.
I know, bro. I saw a couple weeks ago that the last set of fixtures weren't where I thought they'd be, and I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on. I was clicking on every day of the week trying figure out when they were playing, before I finally figured out that they'd just somehow left them out. I don't know why, but it's Fulham I fear most. I hope Wednesday finish 3rd, because I'd prefer them over two legs to a one-off at Wembley. It's not rational, but that's the only one that worries me ... Wednesday'll beat any of 'em home and away ... and Reading or Hudders at Wembley ... but Fulham at Wembley scares me. Go figure.
You can memorize the amount of games played per club because it is 2x-2 where x is the number of clubs. In leagues with fewer clubs like Scotland, clubs play opponents more than twice, but you can expect the 2x-2 formula to work if there are 18 or more clubs.
agreed. and i knew in the back of my head 2x23... but ... i was more confused by the fact that espnfc didn't have the month of may listed. and i couldn't remember who we had left to play...
well we started brightly going up 1-0 inside of ten minutes... lost 2-1 and we were a man down due to a red card (matias). roll on the play offs!
there seems to be loads of confidence over at OO going into this one. honestly, I don't know quite where it comes from. I mean, I'm happy for it, and I wouldn't want to discourage it ... but Huddersfield are decent and I quite like what Wagner's doing for them. of course, i'm a natural pessimist about these things, so there's that. but recent results have been a little better than recent form, to my mind. i'll be happy to have my fears unfounded, but I don't see this as an easy tie, at all.
