Continuation from 16-17 generation https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/2016-17-u-20-thread-r.2030591/page-37 Once the U-20 WC finishes...

The draw for U-19 Championship qualifiers this year (Oct 31 - Nov 8, 2017.) -

Once again, we are in a draw with familiar foes. Also a chance to revenge Indonesia for that loss back in 2013 in the same qualifiers (the atrocious weather one).

lee kangins participation confirmed for u18 camp in may

u18 team was scheduled to partake in a friendly tournament held in china but their invitation was backtracked at the last minute (most likely due to politics). team will train in korea instead

White socks look good. I also like the training top w/ red shorts combo that they used for a practice match a while back

Pretty much Poland's Away kit color scheme. Though, It's a pity that we've never gotten to use the blue socks that was intended for our Home kit.

lee kangin is two years younger so he doesnt really belong in this generation

are you looking for the few standout players or just the overall quality of the players? if it is the latter i want to assure you and everyone else we are in a good place. any generation starting from 97/98 borns to the kids who are around 14-16 now there are promising youths by the truckload (guys who you know for sure will cut it in the pros as long as they train and play like they give a damn). these are generations of kids who got involved in the sport when soccer was at an all time high in popularity and after youth system had started taking shape in korea. they faced great competition along their every step and many of them were trained under guys who somewhat knew what they were doing. i watch a bit of school level soccer and when the 1997 borns were around the age of 14-15 you could tell the game was starting to evolve into another level. the game was played at a faster tempo, movements were much better, passes were connecting, and less and less teams were seen relying on long balls. with these generations im almost dead certain we will be facing issues of having too many players and not enough teams to play them. unfortunately though after several years of steady increase the number of players at middle school/high school level are declining (because koreants arent reproducing as we used to). if korea is to do anything meaningful in the soccer world that isnt seen as a one time fluke these guys are it

I just realized that Cho Young-Wook, who happens to be 18 can play for this team next year, and in the 2019 U-20 world cup again.

Ulsan's Kim Gyu-hyeong and Hong Hyung-suk are injured. Especially Kim Gyu-hyeong he would be one of the aces in this team if he plays.

Good to see Kevin Harr back.

Unlike Jasper ter Heide, he actually wants to play for the Korean national team.

Should have gotten one of these for Jasper just in case he wants to play for us in the future. ;)

Jasper can't play because he has no Korean nationality unlike Harr who has both nationalities (IIRC). Jasper would need to live in Korea to be eligible while Harr can get call ups but he'd need to choose eventually if it becomes a serious theme (I think if he reaches the military age).

But ironically under the traditional Korean law Jasper would be considered Korean while Harr would not be and his mother would be executed.(경국대전)
