How hard is Ticketmaster MX route with a US credit card and limited Spanish speaking abilities?

Should be easy if they're sold online like anticipated.

I'm a member so I shouldn't have a problem, when they actually go on sale.

Point being they were using today as a deadline to get new people to sign up.

yesterday i was emailing with them and they kept repeating that travel packages are the only way to guarantee getting tickets....quite frustrating. im happy that they sell those silly packages but dont be disingenuous to your paying, loyal customers in order to try and do it

I feel your frustration. No one at Soccer House is willing to give more than vague information. And pushing the luxury travel packages........gross. Sure, let people willing to spend at least $600 per person for two nights hotel, a bus ride to and from the game, some trinkets, a drink or two, and some snacks have guaranteed game tickets while those of us who can't afford or don't want that kind of trip, but have traveled through thick and thin to support the team, have to sweat out getting tickets. Just a reminder, the luxury travel packages are open to anyone with access to the US Soccer website. While USSF members wait.

I'm pretty sure there will be tickets for all of us. Costa Rican traveling fans filled the entire top endline section on the side where we stand at Azteca for their recent match. I vaguely remember reading that 10,000 Tico supporters attended. Surely, they didn't all get tickets from the Costa Rican federation. If they can get tickets, so can we.

But USSF ain't making it easy. My biggest concern is that they'll send out the ticketing email with the sale live. Anyone offline at that moment might miss out. That is how the process went in 2013. In the end, I think everyone got tickets. However, there may be more demand and a smaller ticket allocation this time, especially when they pimp the tickets to their and AO's luxury packages.

Everyone says that all you have to do is buy a general ticket and wear USA gear. Then security will shepherd you into the stadium.

On the plus side maybe those travel packages aren't so popular after all.

I know they have done renovations over the last 8 years since I was there. But in 09 the section we were in had a chain linked fence on one side and row of police with riot shields on the other. So there wasn't a set size capacity because you could just shuffle the cops down until everyone fits.
Now if 5,000 people buy lower bowl tickets and try to get in the section up top it would cause problems. However few dozen people that already had upper corner/endline tickets(also cheaper) are trying to get in its just a manner or moving the human fence.

It's not hard to buy, but picking up the tickets could be a hassle. I've been a Tijuana Xolos season ticket holder for years now but we've bought Xolos tickets from ticketmaster.mx too. Things may have changed (I hope) but when we did it, they were unable to provide the standard downloadable/printable pdf tickets. Something about using a US credit card for a sale in Mexico they needed to locally run the real card. So we'd have to go to "Will Call" at the stadium, wait in a long line, then provide the same credit card we used for the online purchase so they could physically run and authorize the card locally. because of this, the lines moved really slowly. It was a total pain in the ass.

If we end up going this route (a distinct possibility), I hope that Ticketmaster.mx figured out how to bill us so we can download the tickets and not have to go thru Will Call at Azteca before the match.

There should be a bunch of different pickup locations in Mexico city, 4 years ago I picked up my tickets at the Liverpool department store right near the Zocalo and where I was staying. There was no line and it was quick and easy.

Yet another email for the travel package. I noticed this one has "Deadline: Wednesday, May 10, 11:59pm CT" under the details for it. I've been wondering when we'll finally get to buy tickets, so perhaps this means we have to wait until after midnight on Wednesday?

A little behind schedule compared to 2013.

I bought tickets from USSF on 2/21 for the 3/26 game. But I don't think they were mailed until like 3/15 or somewhere around there.

yeah that's a good point and it should be possible for this match. This also can be done with Xolos tickets bought from ticketmaster.mx, I just forgot about it. We never did it because we'd cross the border just before game time so we'd just go directly to the stadium. But as we'll be in Mexico City days before we can hopefully pick up the tickets well before the match and avoid the stadium Will Call lines which will surely not be where you want to be in the hours before kickoff. My real hope is that we can get tickets from US Soccer but keep this backup plan.

http://www.femexfut.org.mx/#/ ................For anyone fluent in Spanish, in the top right corner it mentions the 12,13, and 14th of May. Is it saying those are pre-sale dates for Citi Card members, or is that a general on-sale?

It says 10% discount for Citi cards. Don't really see anything about it actually being on sale.

^ My guess would be the 12, 13, or 14th of May? Just doing a rough translation, but Preventa, according to Google, is Pre-Sale.
