Twice. A gust of wind carries the ball the entire length of the field on the first one. On the second he scores in the 95th minute when Dallas has a corner for the final play of the game. His header at the death makes the final Dallas 2-1 Minnesota.
So I find myself with a free Saturday in New York City this weekend, and excitedly looked to see which of the NYC teams are home this weekend so I can catch the game, and . . . dammit!
Hey, wait. The Rapids are actually playing again? (Seriously, because of my vacation I haven't seen anything but "highlights" since the opening weekend)
BTW tomorrow (Friday) is the 10th anniversary of the inaugural game at DSG Park. Unlike that day its forecast to be a 70 degree day in Denver. I swear the opening game is still maybe the coldest game I've been at in the stadium (it was colder than the Snow Clasico).
Good grief, only 3 goals in the Dallas - Minnesota game. No point watching such a low scoring affair (in Minnesota terms)!
I'll never forget that game as well, as it was the first MLS game I ever watched (albeit on television). A decade under the influence.
As I am most likely missing the entirety of tonight's game (well, maybe I'll get home in time to catch some of the second half), I'd like to take this time to say ... GO CANADA!
******** tonight's game is late. I was hoping I could not do a workout this afternoon/evening and then tell myself it was because I needed to be home to watch MLS.
That's a good point.. We should probably just limit it to each team that has a game this week, though.. Oh, we'll also need a match tag too. So I'm thinking: Do you think we should add the dates as well? I would hate to limit people's ability to find this thread.
