Sanè looked way better for City. I'm not sure whether it was because the team never left second gear in a friendly and maybe Sanè felt a desire to force things or maybe it's because he wasn't as focused due to it being a friendly or what.

"With another clean sheet, Joachim Löw’s national side also set a new record. Never before in the 108 year history of Germany as a footballing nation has the DFB side gone so long without conceding."

that's what 7 consecutive clean sheet gave us!!!

    also
"Joachim Löw.... on the game: We were very nervous in the first half. We had some young players playing in this structure for the first time and we only had one training session before playing. The game improved in the second half, had more structure and the younger players in attack grew into the game. I think it was good and important for the players to gain experience. We used the space better in the second half. At the start Brandt, Sané and Werner were all very close to each other and they constantly had their backs to goal. After that we stretched the game more and were able to create more space. What Timo did incredibly well, was that he made very good runs going forward and created plenty of space."

nice to see him praise Werner for his hard work.

The team only had one training session together before the match. You can't really expect a great performance in these situations.

well this sucks, Werner is out vs Azerbaijan.
"Germany debutant Timo Werner suffered a pulled hamstring during Wednesday night’s 1-0 win over England. The RB Leipzig forward will not travel to Baku for Sunday’s World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan as a result.

“It was a great first game and I really enjoyed it,” said Werner, who will leave the team base in Kamen for Leipzig today. “Hopefully I will be able to come back a few more times yet,” he added."

still made a pretty good 1st game given the lack of service and creating chances on our part. Hopes he gets picked in June!!!!

Gomez was said to only be out vs England we don't know if he'll be fit for Sunday or not.

    so confirmed that
-Khedira will captain the team tomorrow
    -Gomez will start
-Howedes will start and Rudiger is most likely benched and we get a Howedes-Hummels center

    and Ozil is still doubtful

does anyone still have doubts as to why Schürrle is on the team?
against England had 1 assist and against Azerbaijan he had 1 goal and 1 assist.

A lot of players can score and assist against Azerbaijan. His assist against England was a 5 yard pass to Podolski who scored from distance. It's not that impressive. But yeah he is not a bad squad player to have.

Khedira has been dreadful this game. Giveaways cheap passes too often and his passes seem so weak.

have to say defensively we are very very shaky. I always worry about our defense.

also Muller's goal ties him with Bierhoff with 37 goals!!!! He's now 5 away from tying Ballack at 42.
