Not surprised, but I thought the Quakes might have valued a big man up front in Olmes Garcia. I guess the international slot is more valuable to use on a summer DP.

Where is Lindo then....caught up with visa issues? I wonder if he is INT, whether he's to be sent to Reno. So who is keeper #3?

Why not send both those guys to Reno for a full season, and see if they're ready to contribute to the Quakes roster in 2018?

I have updated the numbers and added Mfeka. I'm hoping that at some point our INT slots will become easier to account for. The Quakes website does not currently count Cummings, Godoy, Silva, or Dawkins (though his DP designation is taking up that spot). So we have somewhere between three and minus one available.

This taken from the following article seems to not match up with the tweet:

    Notes

The Quakes have released forward Olmes Garcia, Fioranelli said Saturday. Garcia was selected in the MLS re-entry draft in the offseason but San Jose then signed three foreigners with better pedigrees.

The team also decided against keeping draft picks Lindo Mfeka of South Florida, Christian Thierjung of Cal and Washington goalkeeper Auden Schilder, who is pursuing a job associated with his earth science degree.

The Quakes have not released an update on fullback Marvell Wynne’s heart condition. It’s unknown if he will be able to return.

Star Chris Wondolowski didn’t play Saturday because of an ankle injury. He said he will be ready for the season opener.

I have slightly more confidence in Robert Jonas than I do Elliott Almond, but we'll see about Lindo. Elliott also said that Hyka is a "right-sided midfield". I think he is right-footed, but plays more on the left.

Kind of weird that Lindo wasn't at the game in uniform though. Maybe Jesse changed his mind at the last minute, or Lindo wanted too much to fit into the cap.

Yeah Robert Jonas confirmed what he wrote in his tweet though, via a centerline article. Maybe he is just headed to Reno already.

Is Leandro Barrera actually still on this roster somehow?

He's not on the 30 man roster, but still with the Quakes:

He wasn't on the roster anymore after e was sent out on loan. Wikipedia still has him as our player, and with not appearances on loan San Martin. I don't have the language skills to run this down, but I could always move him to our MLS rights.

I thought you could not loan out a player over the age of 24 (cannot be turning 25 during the season year)? Maybe that is only to USL, but it might be the same for this.

That does seem to be correct for intraleague loans. I will move him to the rights area in the next update. It looks like we are also now 3rd on the allocation list.

It looks like he plays for Chacarita Juniors in the Argentine second division now, and that he moved there around last August.

The most recent news comes from this report of a friendly from today. Chacarita's lineup:
And confirmed by Soccerway and BDFA Argentina.

Weird that he's still listed as "on loan" on that MLS roster page. You would think that if they loaned him out again they would have said something about it. The article from last August discussing his potential move to Chacarita doesn't mention the Earthquakes at all.

It's certainly a helpful resource. MLS has never relieved how players off of the senior roster are classified before. However, Berrera is currently listed as both on loan/unavailable and on our senior roster. I expect this will lag like all of MLS' resources. Roblar started this thread way back in the Spartan Stadium days when getting information from the league was like pulling teeth. It's heartening to see the league strive for some measure of transparency. Until they add our rights, salaries, and all the arcane math of allocations within our budget there is still plenty of fodder for Bigsoccer.

This confirms what I suspected about TT's new contract. He is still considered a homegrown. He is technically a Supplemental but by virtue of the homegrown rules, can receive up to something like $120k over the supplemental minimum. Lima is a Reserve / HG. I forget which one has a higher minimum but it doesn't really matter because presumably they are taking him over the Reserve max with the HG bonus thing.
