News: 2017 Preseason

Sounds like FCD employed a 4-4-2 throughout. The 1st 40 minutes were starters, as were the second 40 minutes which featured key reserves, both finished scoreless.
The final 40 minutes featured the following line-up:
Third 40 minutes

Lineup: Avilez(Academy), Chala(Guillen 20), Hume, Harris, Cannon, Hayes, Barnathan, trialist, Reid, Rosales, Ferreira

Not surprised they were the only to concede a goal.

 

Surprised, but excited to see Paxton listed with the starters.
If we see more of this through out the season, he could be special.

 

Yep, 3 noticeable absences in Seitz, Morales, and Tesho. And I too thought Luna was the "Trialist", but it turns out he wasn't, nor did he (Luna) see any action.

 

I would hazard it will be tough to decide who the starters are since there are two campaigns going on simultaneously and OP might be balancing players to do well in both. After the week is over there might be more info on who will be playing with who and we can better guess reasons for who is where.

 

From what I read at BDS, Pomykal looked very good in his start at Lanus. I don't know if Pareja thinks he's ready but that report gives me some hope in this kid.

Still too early to tell who the starters are but I must say I was impressed with their first go at it.

 

Still would feel better if there was some video.

I would like to add that the Argentine clubs agreeing to 120 minute Friendlies, instead of the typical 90 minutes, is going to be huge for FCD.
Thats 7-8 straight 120 minutes games.
It's all hands on deck, and ideally, the cream will rise to the top.

Agreed at the moment with all healthy. Still think Chala has a chance to take the LB spot but may depend on opponent and whether a more attacking or stay at home defender is prescribed. Could become a home and away change with the more attacking lineup at home and defensive on the road. So many good players to pick and choose from makes this more likely.

 

Good job, even for a morning friendly, against an Argentine giant.

 

I don't understand why so many other teams passed on Adonijah Reid. I just don't understand.

Be happy. He's getting to show he can play and getting quality minutes against a good opponent. He couldn't be in a better situation for his career and FCD has shown no hesitation to play anyone who looks ready.
