This ownership group is a joke, the fact that we actually win games seems to be nothing but pure blind luck.

For what it's worth, construction costs in the Metroplex really HAVE been exploding. McKinney just had to add $7M to their new HS football stadium just because concrete is going up, and my wife, who is negotiating an expansion for her office, mentioned (before I read the entire article to her) that quotes have gone up significantly in the last year.

The fact the Hunts weren't prepared for this, or to eat some costs to save face, tells us what we need to know; well, tells us what what we already knew.

Then there's this, complete with second deck, roof, and grassy(?) terrace. Wonder what the excuse was that time.

So is what he saying is that they bought out their siblings? If so I wonder if any decision making changes. To give Clark and Dan the benefit of the doubt perhaps the half brothers and sisters vetoed some thing they wanted to do.

Also in the DaMN there is an article about several school districts having big cost increases on stadiums so FCD is not the only one affected. Concrete costs are through the roof from all the demand to build in the area. 121 and the toll road must be one of if not the busiest construction area in the country with other major projects around DFW too. The only thing I really cared about in the whole thing was the inability to walk around the south end to get from east to west or vice versa and no entrance from the south gate if that was also affected. The rest I've never known so can't be too upset to not get it but both of those make it easier to navigate and will be a major annoyance.

That is the golden question. I'm not holding my breath that we're magically going to start seeing the wallet open up all of a sudden but at least we know the two that actually care about the team are calling the shots now.

We're all pretty sure they were the only two calling the shots this whole time anyway.... Only when it came to matters of big expenditures did the other siblings come into play, so what they're "out of the way", it is also possible to assume that means the pool of available money is also now reduced.

One of the big problems with the bowl type of stadium they have is that if there is no big roof then the whole thing does not appear to be a stadium. The graphic above is nice but does not in any way look like part of a stadium.

It is nice to get coverage from two different news outlets.

What do you think of the renovations? I would prefer something more comprehensive, but I guess that it's a first step. With the HoF construction, the Hunts have basically committed the team to Frisco long-term, so it makes sense to commit to further renovations in the future. I'd imagine that those will come if attendance increases and the team begins to become more profitable. But a more complete renovation might attract novice fans.

As Hitman/Peter points out, the team could be much better at publicizing themselves when they have something worth talking about. I think the renovations are good. I have thought the video board and sound needed to be updated for some time so that is great. The rendered look from the street is nice, but I'd have thought FCD would feature more prominently. Something needs to be done about the East side fans and getting some shade. It can be brutal, so we go to less games and sit on the West side.

Regarding shade on the east side (where I sit), take a look at the schedule. No 8pm games this season. Last season there were many 8pm games. 8pm starts cut down on the glare from the setting sun. Is the club trying to push more fans to the shady west side?

That is really odd. Wonder if it was TV or fan feedback (surely not) that got them to move the games back. They used to at least be 7:30 but not 7. Very strange. Going to get a little toasty in there.

Well, if that was a strategy it worked on my family.

I have a couple of questions from a supporter from far, far away:

Will they open up the seats in the new end before the HOF fame opens or are they going to wait until they are done?

Is there any mention of completing roofs on the sides of the stadium? It would look spectacular if they did.

I have been looking but I can't find information about the seating capacity pre, during and post construction.

Sorry for all of the questions but I am trying to stay up on all things FCD. Great start to the year by the way.

    Not sure.

No mention of more roofs but agree it would look fantastic. My hope is they see that themselves and want it.

Capacity used to be around 22,000. Should be close to that again although keep in mind it was benches before and that might squeeze more than individual seats do. The wildcard is how many seats are in the inside addition.

Start of the year is odd in so many ways. Unbeaten but all but one at home and three ties at home offset by a road win. Last unbeaten though!
