Also, he and Oscar Pareja very excited about Argentine trip. Should get really good matches vs. Boca, San Lorenzo, others.— Steve Davis (@SteveDavis90) January 25, 2017
Pareja said team NEEDS edgy, competitive matches to get into game rhythm ahead of CONCACAF quarters in less than a month— Steve Davis (@SteveDavis90) January 25, 2017
One more from @FCDallas training: Didn't realize @Tesho13 returned from CNT with injury. But like @KellynAcosta & @Matt_Hedges, not serious— Steve Davis (@SteveDavis90) January 25, 2017
OK, last one (for real): saw Mauro Diaz. Walking without any noticeable limp. (Has seemed to beef up a bit; not missing many meals, seems🙂)— Steve Davis (@SteveDavis90) January 25, 2017
Day 4 of preseason camp. Notes and video of a 30 minute 11 v 11 Intra Squad scrimmage. http://www.fcdallas.com/post/2017/0...-week-one-2017-preseason-intrasquad-scrimmage
"With Hedges not playing and Walker Zimmerman at U.S. National Team camp, Atiba Harris played center back alongside Aaron Guillen for the senior side during the scrimmage and played very well there - something definitely to keep an eye on. " - having to admit I wasn't there to see it for myself - but - if Atiba Harris ever has to play CB for Dallas, it can only be because 5 other people are dead.
Oddly I have thought he would be ok doing that since Watson and other big outside backs have pulled it off. Atiba's very physical and good in the air. If they are thinking of it I hope they do it scrimmages and low key matches for him to become comfortable and not an MLS game.
In case you missed it, Adonijah Reid and Jacori Hayes have been signed. FC Dallas Press Release: It's rookie haircut day after training 😬😬 #FCDPreseason pic.twitter.com/MxFGKbqTcG— FC Dallas (@FCDallas) February 1, 2017

That's some quality rookie hazing right there. Should have done it right before the first preseason game, though. Make them play a game like that.
I also saw some Twitter complaints about how hazing of any kind is cruel and disrespectful. Wow, the PC brigades are at it again... If the worst that happens to you is getting a fugly haircut to start your career, then I'd immediately say, "Hey, not bad... At least I'm getting paid to do what I love." Nobody got hurt and no one to whom it happened seemed to care, either. It's a right of passage, for pity's sake.
Couldn't help it. I'm on my soapbox, today due to an incompetent employer... Logic is always my best medicine; my brains version of Vicodin, if you will. [emoji1]
I mean, every time I have a job interview I get hazed. I have to cut my hair and trim my beard, dress like a yuppie. Then I grow my hairs to full luxuriance and wear the standard academic Goodwill attire...
Wow, @FCDallas star Walker Zimmerman named Man of the Match in his first ever appearance for @ussoccer. USMNT tops Jamaica, 1-0.— Scott Bell (@ScottBellDMN) February 4, 2017
Zim played so well that I now worry that we're going to miss him for substantial games this season (Gold Cup, maybe WCQers, etc.) I'm semi-worried about our CB depth now. Guillen is unproven, but the staff seems to like him. Figueroa can play there, but its not ideal. Anybody else think we need to go acquire an MLS free agent like Goodson or Marvell Wynne as an insurance policy?
This season can't start quick enough. I need some soccer joy in my life because watching Liverpool in 2017 is absolute torture.
Yes, I do believe we need another veteran CB because we may be missing both Zimmerman and Hedges at times and may Figueroa too. I like it for our MLS cup chances because even though we won't get as many points as we would if they were here all year they will both improve more with those callups and be by far the best defensive CB pairing for a playoff run. That is why teams with lesser points win MLS Cup. They are missing their best players for parts of the season while those players are learning how to play even better while away.
