Thibaut today: "Some players are more concentrated on what they will do after their football career and want to make sure their lives are financially settled," he added. "I prefer to play in big teams, earn a little less money and win trophies." Glad to see how openly happy he is. Would be pretty tight if this kid was pushing for a move after shipping off the greatness that is Petr Cech.
I think he's with Madrid next season, but it's going to have to be for more than the 28m I've seen quoted. Start at 75m.
One thing I wish Costa had in his game is what Drogba did time and again for us below. Costa seems to favor dribbling into tight spaces and doing one-twos. He rarely launches missles like Drogba did, but that's the greatness of Drogs I guess.
A. Doubt Courtois leaves. B. He has a big mouth, from the instant he signed. Always has. C. Long as we keep competing, doubt he leaves.
Courtois? I wish he displayed that on the field. I have never seen so many instances where the defenders are yelling at Courtois to speak up and communicate. One of the biggest areas he could improve. With Cech, you knew with he and Terry, the defense would be organized.
I don't see Courtois leaving in the summer. He will probably sign a new contract. He always says silly things in the rags that make headlines but I think he is always just pushing for a larger pay raise. The club committed so much to him that they would not have done had they believed he may be wanting to leave. If we miss out on Griezmann which I think will happen, then we should try to sign Carrasco who I feel is a great player and if we do not sign him this summer then next summer his fee will rise even higher. Having said that, I doubt Atletico would sell both players in the same window, or any players for that matter since they will likely be banned still from signing new players.
I'd take at least one player on the team that could do that. Often I find myself yelling SHOOT!!!......and then they pass.
He just says a bunch of stuff that makes him come across as a jerk. See his thing with Mignolet a while back. On the other hand, he did tell Ola Aina to stop being an idiot recently. And Terry is an excellent organizer it needs to be said.
I think he may have found a place here finally. He was elite at Atleti. He struggled here after the injury. But he's been dam good here this year. We finally have an organized defense.
Yes and no. They have yet to be loaned back out and from the sounds at least one will be kept adding depth at two position groups we have virtually no depth at.
This is true, but Conte did specifically say he liked Charly and thought that keeping him with us would be very productive for him. Impossible to really say what that means, but the kid could be a great wild card to have. He was breaking ankles for fun and getting fouled as much as Neymar last season in Spain, just didn't pan out the same way this year.
Baba Rahman, who had been on loan at Schalke, has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury. Chelsea are in for Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam Chelsea are set to hijack United's move for Victor Lindelof, with Antonio Conte keen to bring the central defender to Stamford Bridge for £40m, say the Mirror
£27m bid for 20-year-old Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie has failed and we are probably going to go back in until we get him. The word on the street is there will be two signings in the window.
Interesting. Probably a comparable pay package and not cup-tied for Europa. Sad to see him go, but sadder to see how fast he declined. Jose's faith in him was a major reason we did what we did last season. Not all on Ivan; Jose didn't recognize it.
It sounds like this is on. Yeah, but I'll try to remember the good times. When he was good, we were really good.
