SuperDraft is tomorrow, so I thought I'd follow @ussoccer97531's lead and get this year's thread started. And sadly, just like last year, it comes accompanied by an injury to Bill Hamid. :(

Nothing like hyping a guy for USMNT before he has even played a Pro game in his life. ;)

The last few years we've had very little young talent in MLS.

This year we will have the most young talent we've had in MLS. I expect multiple big breakouts from a number of players 20 or younger.

I'll value the contribution of this thread just to keep track of which early draftees are USMNT eligible. Lalas is reporting the Minnesota traded the top pick, btw.

I think the "just missed" guys to keep an eye on are Roldan (whom Bruce singled out specifically), Rowe, and Hairston. Anxious to see how they do.

Jeremy Ebobise, Miles Robinson, Jackson Yeuill, and Jonathan Lewis are the U-20s expected to go high.

Who else is a potential USMNT contributer or incoming Flavor to keep an eye on?

The draft picks are okay. I think Ebobisse is the big fish out of that group. The rest I don't expect anything too special from. I would say the other big fish with big time potential among young Americans in MLS are Palmer-Brown and Carleton. There are others though. Another season for Glad and Redding. Maybe Adams, Cannon, Durkin, Ferreira, Pomykal, Vazquez, Trusty, Goslin etc get some playing time, although it might be a little too early for some of those players.

Robinson #2 to Atlanta United is a good pick so far.
Picked before Ebobisse. Carlos Bocanegra, Parkhurst, Loyd, etc. Lots of good MLS/USMNT guys to learn from.

Could get playing time right away this season.

So EPB, Glad, Robinson, and Redding all in MLS and US U20-eligible. Yikes! So much young U20 talent in that position in MLS to go with CCV at Spurs.

    guys who likely could start:
Danladi to Minnesota, Robinson Atlanta, Lewis to NYCFC, Ebo to Portland, and Yueill to San Jose. Very happy picking Yueill there, thats a great deal.

Who's more likely to play in MLS this season? Tommy Thompson or Tanner Thompson?

It just hasn't happened for Tommy...............................

Trusty's an interesting kid that people forget about.

Trusty is about a year and a half younger than Robinson. I'm not sure how much we're going to see of Auston this season.

I'm not the biggest fan of the draft.

A player like Trusty who's barely talked about is probably a better player than Robinson who was the #2 pick. There are only a handful or two of MLS regulars or better in each draft, and not all of them are in the first round.

I think Robinson will be a good player, but I just think most of the young talent that people will talk about this season will not come from the draft.

Players like Robinson, Yueill, Lewis are top 5 picks in this draft, but probably aren't good enough to make a full strength US U-20 NT.
