Do MASL teams post depth charts anywhere, or does the nature of the game and rolling subs make them pointless? A newbie to Indoor Soccer here.
Welcome. There are usually set lines and special teams units, but they do not always necessarily hold firm throughout a season or even a game. There are starting goalkeepers, but most field players get similar playing time except for those on special teams.
Not that I am aware of. I am not sure anyone has ever asked. Watch games and see who plays with whom. That's all I can tell you.
The heat did more then beat then just beat the Blast they Humiliated them.. I was at the Game and it just did not look like the Blast were even playing at times Once Harrisburg took the lead we fell apart. Harrisburg came to play. Now they proved that they can win and want to win I just hope they can get the fans back in the arena
I was there too. Super exciting game. (The limited) crowd was loud and into it. The controversial Basso goal was the critical score of the game. Delmont was on the floor hugging players at half time, trying to energize them for the final two quarters, and spurring the PA announcer to pump up the volume. DaSilva made a bunch of spectacular saves. (What a great signing he has been). Just a fantastic atmosphere. I'm sorry to say this...but...I loved seeing the Blast fan contingent quiet and demoralized.
Was also glad the Heat defeated the Blast, as a longtime Blast fan/ indoor soccer fan I am tired of watching the Blast just dominating teams and just coasting through the regular season. Things might start to get very interesting in the East. It is definitely more competitive in the MASL this season, which has been great for the league. Hope it continues! Also we have talked about the Ambush and how they need to improve in as a team. But one area that they do lead the league in is game presentation. I watched most of this Comets/Ambush game this past weekend and the audio on the broadcast was better than usual. I really enjoyed the organ music, short exerts of different varieties of music, good PA, and a lot of good sound effects. If you go Blast games, they play the same music game after game almost on queue during the game. It has been the same for many years now and to me it gets very old. Many years ago they did play an organ during Blast games, but they stopped for some reason. Some other teams in the MASL I noticed have the same old game presentation also and a few teams continue to play half , whole songs, and/or same type of music during the game which all of these drive me crazy. The STL Ambush are one of MASL leaders in game presentation and the rest of the league should take notice. The Ambush also have a great arena for indoor soccer. Mix it up a little, be creative, and not the same old same old every game. Congrats to the Ambush organization for great game presentation!
Agreed, the Ambush game day production is excellent. The organization is well managed under the new local owner group. I just hope at some point in the near future, the Ambush will have a competitive team on the field. No new signings of players in a while. At least if the game day production is well done, people will hopefully return to buy tickets again. I took a friend to the Comets-Ambush game, he said he enjoyed it more than he thought he would. He is not normally a sports fan either. The game day atmosphere does add value to the overall experience.
I would love to see the blast update it pregame Production , They have ran through the same old sign for years. They use to have explosions and stuff but all that has completely stopped.
Supposedly they did, but they have since deleted the story of his firing from their website (it was there last night). If Eugui is gone, he leaves 7 games shy of the record for worst oh-fer for an indoor coach. Wayne Jentas 0-16 Charlie Curto 0-13 Alkis Panagoulias 0-10 Hector Eugui 0-9 Whoever coached Mexico in the WISL in 1999 0-7 Gary Young 0-6 Chuck Martini 0-5
Was the late Alkis Panagoulias' 0-10 attempt at indoor coaching before or after he coached Greece to the 1994 World Cup?
Here is the only thing I can find posted about the coaching change (without trying to translate Spanish versions): http://cbs4local.com/sports/sports-headlines/coyotes-run-with-new-pack
With the 1995-96 freak show called the Chicago Power. John Dolinsky went 6-24 the rest of the way. (Which were the final days of the franchise.)
As of the last time I did this (2013) Gordon Jago had been the oldest at 64 and 347 days when he last coached on 10/4/1997. At 24, Mike Garrett of Kalamazoo was the youngest at that time. (Having coached in 1986.)
Enjoyed watching last night's game between Dallas at Florida. The game stayed close throughout and Florida continues to impress as an expansion team. Dallas has a decent team but are a few good players away from taking it to the next level. Cameron Brown plays with high intensity and continues to be one of the stars is this league. The Chicago/C Rapids game was also entertaining and was surprised that the Mustangs continue to dominate the Rampage this season.Anyway, during the Dallas/Fla game I noticed the commentator say that Florida was still in the fight for that second playoff spot in their division. Does anyone know what this years playoff format will be? Will there be 3 playoff spots per division like last year or just 2 spots?
What? Seriously? Like, really? You buy food items for players road trips??? The "Joe Newman" ABA once had players staying in a hotel-cum-brothel (I know, I know, pun intended) during some exhibition games in Singapore but having a booster Club buying food for the players on road trips is pretty shocking. Was it granola bars and soda (beer) for the bus ride or was it a bunch of Applebee's gift certificates so they wouldn't have to hit up a soup kitchen? Can you expand on this please.
