Big time. He over did it yesterday. Underestimated Weidman's reach. At least he was finally giving straight answers in the press conference for the most part instead of his usual canned answers.

He wasn't even interested he seemed more interested when he was talking about his "dream fight" with Roy Jones.

With Silva you can never take his word at face value. He said publicly he didn't want to fight Sonnen for the 2nd time and initially said he didn't want to fight Weidman. But Dana White said Anderson has never turned down a fight when they talk behind doors. So IMO, it's all just to get into the opponents head. He still has 10 fights on his contract which I found it to be absurd given his age. And he said he doesn't want to fight for the belt anymore. But given what I stated above, we'll just have to wait to see how this develops.

As for the comments of him clowning around too much, that's part of his game. He has won many fights doing the same thing and was called a genius. Did he underestimate his opponent's stand up game ? Probably a bit. I mentioned Weidman's reach is what got him. But in the 1st round after Anderson was able to stand back up, Weidman did look a little frustrated and even a little tired. I think Anderson took that as a sign he got into Weidman's head and the fight was in the bag. Plus, the clowning did keep Weidman from attempting more take downs which was not in Anderson's interest. He tried one in the 2nd round but got stuffed.

I agree celito, but there has to be a point where the clowning is just too much. I'd like him to take a fight seriously for a change. I am curious to see how he looks in his next fight.

    Silva x Weidman II - Dec 28

Looks like Silva already changed his mind and wants a re-match as expected. If he loses I'd expect him to retire.

Meh. I'll watch it for sure, but can't say I'n excited for it as the first go-around or for JDS and Cain or Aldo and when he was set to face Pettis.

If he loses to Diaz, he should just call it quits.

I hope he calls it quits win or lose, Anderson has had a very long career and is coming off back to back ktfo and compound fracture losses, too much mma mileage at this point.

Honestly it all depends on how he looks on his return. His style is heavily based on speed, reflexes, and accuracy. It's amazing he lasted this long. But both times he lost to Weidman were really circumstantial events. Although it's true he was dominated in the first round of both fights. I'd still would have liked to see how those fights turned out had it gone 3+ rounds. I felt in the 1st fight Weidman was getting frustrated already at the end of the 1st round.

I don't think he dominated the 1st round of that rematch. Weidman flash KO'ed him from the clinch in that first round, which is evidence that his chin is could be shot, Anderson was out for a moment and woke up on his way down. I think Anderson is still capable of winning fights, the problem is that with the kind of legacy that he built it's become easier to tarnish it than to improve it.

look at this, the punch just sort of grazes the ear and then he's out for half a sec. I think his chin is definitely not what it used to be.

That was just brutal. It's like Ronda had never fought before . The hype around her was sickening. UFC match making has become too much about money .

yeah Shogun's MMA career actually resembles Ronaldo R9's. Coming back from knee injuries take the belt from Lyoto was Shogun's 2002. but that was the last hoorah

Denilson is built like an alcoholic which basically his entirely generation is, Dinho, Ronaldo, Adriano, Vampeta, etc.
