He'll fit right in as he cannot defend.

Maybe he can at least come forward on 1 attack, and put in 1 cross.

That means he'll fit right in :D

Everyone's after him, he's basically the best centreback in the Premier League. Southampton can name they're price in the summer.

Well this explains why Van der weil has not featured for Fenerbahce for quiet some time now.

Well latest news is he might be on his way out of fenebahce if the situation doesn't improve after having trouble come days and failure to meet the expectations of the team and that of Dick advocaat.

    Well done by Clasie

I was reading a Southampton thread this week and the members agreed to say that he wasn't good enough for the club and might be sold next summer...

He needs more performances like the one tonight

Take the goal away and they would say the same thing based on tonight though. His defense is a proactive one, its based on positioning and pressuring at the right time instead of reactive tackles and the likes, defending forwards. This is unlikely to be appreciated by the islanders in my opinion for the foreseeable future.

Im worried for him though, and part of his trouble is on himself. He plays very constrained and conservative compared to what he can do on the ball. How much of this is just tactical and he is doing as told I dont know, but he certainly hasnt been a bright spark on the ball as he can be.

vDijk is an excellent defender, but I'm not sure he's worth 50 mill

But they will amortize it over the life of the contract and the television money keeps increasing. If he has a five year contract, the amortization is 10M/year which is only 1/10 of the television money. this is why English clubs in the EPL can pay such high transfer fees.

Janssen not even on the bench for Tottenham. Really struggling this year. It seems like so many young dutch players make tereible choices in where they go

Robben scored a goal & assist vs Mainz is a MOM performance. Bayern want to give him 1 year extension till 2018 similar to Ribery. Robben wants a 2 year extension till 2019 - As per his dad & agent, he still has 2-3 top years in him

He's really not very good. Small, not athletic enough, no pace, and often injured.
