Alvarez is still up for grabs as well, having recently attended an FMF camp.

Hilton is a man of mystery since moving to Europe. With his status still in flux, he's apparently playing for an amateur team in the Netherlands. We only get to see or hear about his progress when he attends a U16 ('91s) camp. I hope he can resolve his playing status soon.

Still, pretty impressive that he's playing that far up. ;)

    Tim Weah is extremely overrated.

I've thought this as well, but I'm not sure. He looks like any other average U-17 player for the USA, but its hard to discount him being a star player in an academy like PSG's. Its hard to figure out how good he is. Could be overrated, could be underrated.

    dis.agree.

bro scores for fun at PSG at multiple levels. Is played out of position for US U17s.

Feel like I've heard this narrative before.....

I've only seen him play like 4 times, but for some reason, I think Sabbi is going to be the real deal.

I tend to agree his hips are loser than most of our forwards... he will have the ability to score at a higher level than the majority of our national team forward prospects.

It's said of soccer players that the hips don't lie. At least, I think that was soccer players they were talking about.

What did the tweet say? It says its not a valid tweet id. You posted it in two threads, and it says the same in both threads.

LOL, "defender". Good one Clint. ;)
Seriously speaking, was anyone expecting his development path?

He gave a dominating performance at Dallas Cup for the US in their first game against River Plate. Up there in my mind with how Donovan and Adu played at that age at Dallas Cup. Obviously Adu crashed and burned but I had high hopes after that. BTW at that game he played at center mid. they moved him to left back after that and he's never looked even close to as good at left back. I never saw Pulisic in person at that age but he was better than any. Just electric. Oh, and to answer your question about path - Hyndman was the coach when Acosta first got there and he was surprising poor with young players since he coached that age at SMU. Once Oscar took over the path became clear.

I've not seen enough of the players any younger than '00 to make an informed judgement. I'll list the younger players who I think are looking pretty good right now at the bottom. I also want to separate keepers, I'll make a top 5 list of them at the bottom.

    1. Pulisic
    2. Palmer-Brown
    3. Carleton
    4. Wright
    5. McKennie
    6. Carter-Vickers
    7. Glad
    8. Perez
    9. Pomykal
    10. Gloster
    11. Taitague
    12. Sargent
    13. Redding
    14. Adams
    15. Ebobisse
    16. Cannon
    17. Farfan
    18. Fossey
    19. Lennon
    20. Durkin
    21. Weah
    22. Zelalem
    23. Akale
    24. Lewis
    25. Carranza

    Goalies:

    1. Garces
    2. Vom Steeg
    3. Scott
    4. Silva
    5. Marcinkowski

Admittedly, I know very little about these younger players and have minimal viewings (haven't even watched some of them), but these are some of the names to keep track of. I'm not including dual-nats in Europe who might or might not play for us. The two Mexican-Americans can be counted because we produced them here.

01's: Konrad, Xuxuh, Reynolds, Gonzalez, Palomino, Booth, Rangel, Sepulveda, Llanez (if he counts), Roberts
02's: Bello, Reyna, Gaines, Las, Pynadath, Busio, Ocampo Chavez, Scally, Redzic, Alvarez (if he counts)
    03's: Omidiji, Sealy, Paredes, Nyeman
