An update. Jones has not played due to injury for the last 4 matches. He played on an off before that. I have contacted the club to see what they say.

Here is the info from the club website:
    http://www.stade-payerne.ch/web/equipes/stade-payerne-1/nicolas-jones/

He joined the club from BSC Youg Boys, arguably the 2nd strongest club in Switzerland. With a name lick Nicolas, I would expect a French speaking parent. Just total speculation.

Now on the first team there.

A complimentary 2014 feature (in German):

On what could be his public Facebook page, he jumps a bit from English to German and says he's from Dallas.

He is listed on their U21 page:

Bakary Bojang, Ismet Akman, Jonas Haubner, Fabian Akin, Darko Kraijna, Boris Kaiser,Darius Strode, Zinar Sevimli

His FB profile is "cameronsuttonusa" and that page notes that he attended an international school -- all of which is not conclusive, but seems likely that he's a Yank. With that said, there are no public posts this season and I haven't seen a recent mention of him on the club site.

Canada's FA says Bassong was born in Canada to parents born in Cameroon (father) and Belgium (mother). This does not mean there isn't American blood in there, but I haven't seen details of how that would be.

    Might be his Instagram:

Seems some of the sites confuse Americans and Canadians. Sasa Plavsic is shown on Transfermarkt as American/Serbian (sometimes Croatian), but has lived most of his life in Canada and even played his college ball there. He never has appeared for a team in the US, but someone figured he must be a Yank.

Soccer Talents in particular seems to take some big leaps.

Further down their profile page for Bassong, they say it's his mother who's American.

Zorhan Bassong ist sohn eines französischen-Kameruners und einer Amerikanerin, der 1999 in Québec geboren wurde.

It's certainly possible that his mom is both American and born in Belgium. But I don't know the source of that.

He had a summer trial with Liverpool's academy, so he would seem to be a player of some reputation.

Some site I just learned about called Football Wonderkids says an '00 named Juan Sanabria at Nacional (of Uruguay) was born in the States.

    http://football-wonderkids.co.uk/player/juan-sanabria/

    He does seem to exist:

There's also a player of that name who squared off against the U15s for Uruguay (tagging @BostonRed for possible future addition to the foreign YNT/NT threads). That guy played outfield and FW says he's a GK. The birthdates are the same. I think FW is wrong.

There is a department in Uruguay called Florida, whose capital city is also called Florida: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Florida_Department

The Wonderkids site says he was born in Florida, USA, but I found what I think is his Facebook page and it says his birthplace was "Florida (Uruguay) ciudad actual."

Not too impressed with the page so far, DMN. On their best XI, they don't have Pulisic but put Passlack at RW.

edit: and to get as many Brits on the squad as possible, they list 22 and 23 year old "kids." :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I listened to his interview and he talks about playing for the regional selection of Florida and then being spotted by Nacional. Not something that typically happens in Hialeah.

If he had actually been born in the US I would be having a major conniption. The kid is a huge, huge talent.

I think I may have found some useful information, though it is circumstantial right now.

There are now 2 Shashouas playing at Tottenham in their academy - Samuel (1999) & Armando (2000).

I found Mark Shashoua, CEO of ITE Group, Plc, a family business. He follows Tottenham on Twitter and has liked a couple of tweets where one of the brothers was mentioned.

He was born in the US in about 1970: http://www.standard.co.uk/news/smaller-companies-spotlight-6940257.html
Born 34 years ago in the United States, he has spent most of his life here in the UK.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he attended Syracuse from 1988 to 1992. That means, dad is pretty damn close to being able to pass along US citizenship automatically, just depending on how long he lived in the US after he was born.

That leads to his father, Roger Shashoua, whose biography indicates he was adopted and brought to the US as a child: https://www.theguardian.com/money/2007/aug/11/careers.work1

What I can't seem to find is a direct connection from Mark to the two boys. I can't find any biographies that mention family at all. Their Instagrams are private.

Sounds like we are closer, but need someone to close the loop. Grandpa has written a couple of books, if that might help.

A bit more on the Shashouas.

    I found this Twitter profile:

    Alejandra Sarmiento
    @ShashouaAsds2
Passionate about positive psychotherapy, the beauty of the brain and children's welfare. My sons' biggest football fan.

Her LinkedIn profile indicates she is from Venezuela, which matches up with this information on a short profile on Samuel:
Apart from being eligible for England which other national teams are you eligible for?
    SS: Spain, America and Venezuela.

    https://superhotspur.com/2016/01/28/5-questions-with-samuel-shashoua/

I also found Ancestry.com with this information:
Marriage: date ... Name: Mark S Shashoua. Spouse: Alejandra Sarmiento. Marriage: date - city, London ...

I would say we found us a very likely couple of Yanks.

He also follows both of the brothers. It's pretty obvious he is related, although not necessarily their father.

This is the point where it starts getting a little creepy for me.
