It is fair to report the record of the Ambush (17-43), it is disappointing (Andrew co-owned the Pennsylvania Roar who finished 1-19 in their only season- he did not run that team but was an owner). I am frustrated as a fan, though the players and coaches never 'mailed it in' last year after starting 0-6 ( and changing coaches). Winning more games is critical this year. The Ambush have done a great job connecting with the community, supporting soccer clubs, appearing frequently at local festivals, schools and events, running soccer camps. The Ambush have averaged 5,000+ fans a game for 3 seasons. The business is run professionally. I am hopeful that a winning record will lift up the Ambush to even higher levels of business success.

Don't like 23 of the roughly 25 teams he has owned no longer exist? I don't say that to beat Andrew up, but I just have to take issue with your comment.

I am aware that Andrew has owned other teams and leagues in the past, and also aware of various lawsuits in the past. I can say that he has run the Ambush as a professional business. Tickets are delivered, players and staff are paid. No players, staff, or fans I have talked with have complained of obligations not being met. In the US, anyone can file a lawsuit for almost any reason (hot coffee from McDonald's, etc.). We will see how the Florida Tropics do this season. Andrew says that Florida is hot for soccer too. Best of luck to the Tropics. They've been building up the team for over a year.

    Name three.

And how do the Tropics "look solid?" I've seen them sign a bunch of Brazilians who have never played our brand of indoor.

Oh for Christ sake, I say 1 positive thing about a owner that didn't start out in a rec center errr PASL and Syd and Ken come running to throw a hissy about it.

Syd, I careless about what he did prior to the league as far as his ownership stakes go. His 1 legit franchise in Indoor Soccer, the St Louis Ambush (don't talk to me about the Roar, that was as much the leagues as it was his), has done wonderful so far. It draws tons of fans and was sold (can you believe that, it actually held value) for a monetary gain.

Ken, the Tropics seems to have a solid base of support out of Florida already without a single ball being kicked. Many people who live in that area have reported to seeing the logo on different cars driving around town, not to mention the numerous community events they've been apart of or hosted themselves. They have facebook live feeds from many and it seems to turnout a solid crowd at each. As far as the new teams go, I would say more positive has come from the Tropics than say El Paso.

But hey I know, I'm giving a guy props for doing good and you guys don't like him.. so by all means, continue to moan and cry about it, just don't forgot your tampax before you go outside tomorrow ladies.

Most of what I seen was for taxes anyway most states usually file suit when your 30 days late anyway. I have tenants who failed to pay rent and are moving out of one of my houses I have to give them 4 days notice to pay or vacate after that time has past I can file lawsuit.

Andrew has done a great job of putting the right people on place and promoting the teams he does create. Indoor soccer teams seem to come and go after a few years so if he can build them and sell them and make a few bucks in the process then god bless him .

My parents are currently dealing with fixing their rental house that was trashed by the tenant, who also skipped out on paying rent. Some sports owners are just as irresponsible. Indoor soccer's history has been populated with some colorful owners and unfortunately in some cases, owners who just quit paying people early in the season (Wichita), owners who were better known for getting sued by their dance team (Seattle Impact), or an owner now spending 12 years in prison for running a financial scam (Oxford City).

When we have an owner like Andrew Haines (along with his wife Leah Haines) who actually runs the Ambush, which is a success with attendance, meets all its obligations, and (apparently) is making enough money to attract new owners, some people just want to continuously find reasons to criticize him. Yes, the Ambush need to win more games, hopefully that finally happens this season. We need more owners like Andrew in the sport of indoor soccer. Most people are not that concerned about lawsuits that happened 15 years ago. An old saying says (correctly) that almost anyone with money to their name will be sued at some point in their life. Give it a rest.

Really? I haven't run businesses in all 50 states, but I've never heard of this "30 days late file a lawsuit".

When I ran a business the state had a tiered schedule depending on your sales. I had to remit the collected sales tax on the 21st of the following month, I missed it one or two times a year but was never sued. I had to prepay our business tax on a quarterly basis. The thing that they were über tough on was employee Simple IRA deductions, while there is no numerical specific date, the IRS code said it has to be remitted "timely". Most accountants or Simple IRA custodians will say 28 days your big problem was a Department of Labor audit, they'd fail you and that could disqualify the plan

Anyways.........Andrew Haines, I must confess when I dealt with him, he was a straightforward and honest guy. However his reputation in hockey circles is mixed, if I am honest. A couple of people equate him with Jim "Cashless" Cashman. (that is NOT a compliment).

Is it just me or doesn't it seem rather quiet only two weeks before the season openers?

I guess I would of thought, or hoped, there would be a higher profile presence from the commissioner.

Or even more press releases from each franchise and not just on their websites.

    You said solid franchises. Plural.

OH, THE LOGO'S ON CARS! Solid franchise. With fake Twitter followers. In an area with 18% of its residents living in poverty. Gonna do great.

You're adorable, Anonymous Internet Boy. Go see if Ed Hale needs a foot massage, lackey.

    1. Yes, I am counting Florida/Lakeland as solid. They have already made a stronger foot print than 90% of the PASL teams. You can say this is foresight and who knows, I agree. Based off what I have seen so far though, it looks like they are doing things correctly.

    2. The point of the logos of cars and as you claim "fake twitter followers" shows they are making initiative to get out in the community, grow relationships with the community and grow a fan base. Again, much better than most teams. I don't see El Paso doing ANY of this ... yet I don't see any complaints or comments about them or their owner.

    3. Maybe its a reading comprehension problem, maybe it's just lumping anyone with a Blast logo as their avatar but either way I am FAR from a Ed Hale lackey. Go back and read comments from over the years from me. I have stated MANY times I am no Ed Hale fanboy. I believe Ed Hale is a hot headed businessman who has failed as much in the business world as he has succeeded, yet all you hear from him and his camp of followers is he's a GOD in the business world. Ask the First Mariner Bank people how great he was... its why he lost his shares and got bought out.

Again, I simply stated Andrew did a great job with St Louis and looks to be on track to do it again in Lakeland (a state I said shouldn't have a pro sports team in any league), I hope things go great for him and his team...Indoor soccer needs it. But we can go your route too and just bash anything remotely good and pray for failure. It almost seems like you hate indoor soccer Ken, just don't get why.

El Paso has a lot of stuff posted on their Facebook page - anyone on here live near or in El Paso who could give ano update on how the team is marketing itself? They claimed that 200 players showed up to player tryouts.

El Paso just posted a nice picture of the inside of their arena (El Paso County Coliseum) on their Facebook page. The only thing better would be to see several thousand in the stands on opening night.

Thats a nice looking arena! Seems perfect size for indoor soccer. How many people does it seat?

Hoping for good things out of El Paso, it would be amazing to start seeing some of the lower-tier teams who left being replaced with teams who turn out like Tacoma or St Louis (in the stands anyway).
