Gallardo will still be better than Quinteros it would be a huge step up and yea this is a coach that is European bown Quinteros isnt.
Anyone watching the Champion's League? Noboa not doing good at all. Very poor game by him. Of course this is Bayern we are talking about but damn. He can't hold the ball for one second.
Honesty whoever comes in just needs to have balls, not playing regular minutes at your club, better get ready to see the qualifying games from home or the bench. There should not be any wasted call-ups Gaibor??, Arboleda???. Players are to comfortable with their position on the NT. Montero, Enner, and Caicedo all players who should not be starting, they cause more harm than good atm. Quinteros saying Orejula and Cunti need some minutes before they can start on the NT, should Quinonez, and Achilier even be getting minutes heck how does Gaibor get minutes over Orejula. When i see this team play all i see are players in it for the ride, theres no passion no love all we got are a bunch of pushovers looking for a call. These guys can't even make a cross much less a simple pass just sloppy. There have been reports that the players asked for double prize money against Brazil if they win and where denied which lead to the team playing like garbage idk if its true of not wouldn't be surprised if it was. The FEF did meet with quinteros and from the look of things they told Quinteros to shape up or pack up. Being honest we'll see the same line-up against Chile and Bolivia.
I thought FEF said we are keeping Quinteros. Is there news that he is on a short leash? Meaning that if we don't win vs Chile and Bolivia that he might be canned?
The sad thing is you're probably right.. Quinteros never learns.. I doubt we'll see a line up consisting of El Cunti, Orejuela, Plata, Azcona, Penilla.. Quinteros will continue using the same washed up players like Walter, Parades, Achilier, Enner.. I would like to see a brand new Ecuador, without our usual players.. Only Mina and Antonio should remain in the line up.. I would like to see Cevallos take Noboa's place.. Orejuela and Cevallos should be partners in the midfield, instead of Gruezo and Noboa..
My understanding is that they decided not to fire him despite these 2 losses, but if he doesn't turn the team around for the Chile, Bolivia, Uruguay and Venezuela games his future isn't certain. I mean you'd be crazy to keep him if we keep playing the way we are, last thing we need is to lose against Chile and Venezuela at home, i got us losing to Uruguay no matter what and Bolivia had our number with youth last time around in La Paz.
I personally think the FEF will be satisfied with just a win at home, but at 6 points is a must at this point. If Quinteros doesn't get 6 points its worthless sh*t to me. I find it hard to qualify if we tied against Paraguay at home, lost against Brazil and don't defeat Bolivia like we ALWAYS DO (or at least a tie like last qualifier). we would be failing to get 8 points. How do we make this up? defeating tougher opponents away? I HIGHLY doubt it. So these next two games dictate our future IMO. If ecuador fails to get the 6, estamos en la cuerda floja. Remember that guys.
I've been thinking about it and I personally believe the names Julio Angulo, Cristian Penilla, Ely Esterilla, Jose Francisco Cevallos Jr., Marlon De Jesus, and Joao Plata need to be included on the next list. All these guys are playing and most of all starting in their club teams. All of them are in a progressive state. Is it insane to call up a lot of new faces all at once? Maybe. Actually, yes it is. But what other choice do we have to at least attempt to make an immediate change. I can tell you guys that none of these guys would be starters in my book, BUT they would easily be great options to come off the bench for the next two games. Something to just think about... For those who are surprised I put Marlon on the list. YES, I did. Has anyone noticed he's actually had like 2 or 3 assists in this season since joining his team in Portugal? And lately he's a 90 min starter. Playing more than Felipe AND Enner. Not scoring, but neither are the latter two. Plata is scoring and assisting. Angulo is playing HELLA good in Huracan as a starter. Penilla is consistent starter in Morelia. Esterilla is doing well in BSC for the most part. Better than Angel Mena in Emelec for SURE. Cevallos Jr. is progressing in Liga since Aguinaga has been in charge. I think they all deserve a call up so we can drop Gaibor, bring in Cevallos...drop Mena for Angulo, drop Arroyo for Penilla, drop Jaime Ayovi for Marlon, drop Fidel for Joao Plata. Esterilla can come in as an additional option aka an invite.
Haven't seen him play but I did hear that he was being improvised as a striker. I wonder how that's going for him. Played 2 full matches so far.
and Dominguez keeps proving yet again, why he should NOT be a starter for the NT.. i think it's time we give Azcona a chance.. but knowing Quinteros, that's not gonna happen.
Gees... he sucks. WTF happened to him?!?!??! He was definitely declining at Liga now he sucks so bad.
Damn that was really bad. His positioning has gotten worse over the years and to think at one point he was actually a really good goalkeeper who could pull a bunch of crucial saves.
And yet Quinteros still wants to start him, because of his "experience" smh.. all of our players who have "experience" are playing like shit.. Quinteros needs to call players who are currently in a good moment, instead of players with "experience"
Besides this year, Dominguez was progressing greatly in his career. Everyone has their slumps. Dominguez actually was VERY consistent and progressive for many years in a row (a decent 6 or so years) and never really had a slump in between that time frame. This is his first year having one. Coincidentally, it's the year he decided to make a move to a foreign club team. Bad timing if you ask me. Had this been last year (when Dominguez was getting praised for his performances) or any year previous to this one, he would be succeeding without a doubt. What a bummer for him. Moved at the wrong time. Either way, he is still very much NT worthy and the best Ecuadorian keeper we have. Azcona and Dreer may be the better option temporarily, but in their best forms, Dominguez is the greatest of the 3. He's accomplished much more internationally in NT and club level than they have. His slump is affecting him and the NT, but I wouldn't completely crucify him. If Azcona or Dreer are given a shot, sure....I'm all for it, but Dominguez still needs to be on the NT. He'll eventually get out of that slump and come back strong. No doubts on that. Anyway, any of the three options we have at keeper are good.
In the last game I saw- no. He was playing as a left wing. Opposite of what he played in IDV (right wing). The fact that he can hold his ground on both wings is awesome. Didn't have much belief in this guy, but he's proving me wrong. I think he deserves a shot on the NT. Can't guarantee he'll be great, but it's a VERY interesting option and SHOULD be an option.
Yep I've said this before but you have to start players who have had a good year (Orejuela, Luis Caicedo, etc...) Playing those who have been bad will only ruin the performances of those who actually give their all in the NT like Mina, Valencia, and Noboa. Julio Angulo would be great as a super sub against tired defenders. This is something I've also noticed. We haven't had super subs in a while who could change up games.
I've been saying it too. We aren't producing many wingers. Those are basically the players who "change up games" as super subs. Had Jose Angulo not screwed up, we could've used Enner or Angulo as a super sub. Or Felipe as a super-sub. Three different kinds of players. Cazares is an important sub, but if used properly. But the fact that Tin Angulo isn't in the picture, we lack that new breath of fresh air up front in the attack. We needed it. I hope Bryan Cabezas makes it in Atalanta. He's literally the ONLY hope in refreshing an attacking position as a sub. Penilla, Esterilla, Julio Angulo are interesting possibilities, but they don't give you that sense of guarantee that they will be the future of the NT...mostly due to their age. I've seen two games from Kevin Mercado in Saramiento in Argentina. He's doing well. I hope this kid stops with the bs and makes it finally. He would be an important addition to this NT. Always had great talent. Cevallos Jr. will be an important addition and should be part of the NT very soon. Since we lack options I even mentioned Marlon. He's literally our best striker abroad along with Miller. Enner and Felipe aren't doing much. Enner may be playing, but not assisting or scoring. Felipe doesn't even play. I wouldn't be mad to see Miller-Marlon playing in the next two games for October. Definitely better not see Felipe. Enner as a back up and might as well put Walter Chala in as the other option at this point.
Azcona Velasco Mina Caicedo Pineida Valencia Ayovi or Oyola. Noboa Marcos Caicedo Cazares Felipe Caicedo Dis team gets us a win against Chile, I dont know why they cant call Oyola, hes not young but our young players suck, this guy is a leader and is the best midfielder in our championship. I swear, fire Quinteros, even Carlos Sevilla can sneak us in the top 5 spots, we have good players with a HUGE advantage in altitude. Azcona Dreer Dominguez (although Banguera is way better rn) PP Velasco Quintero Mina Caicedo Aimar Erazo Ayovi Pineida Valencia Ibarra Noboa Oyola Cevallos Orejuela Marcos Caicedo Cazares Sornoza Penilla Caicedo Tuca Ordoñez. Thats it, 4get da Monteros, Enner Valencia, Miller Bolaños, Paredez, Arroyos they play like scrubs, no balls on them. Chile wont have Medel, let Cazares and the Caicedos go ham.
Why Marcos Caicedo and Tuca Ordonez? My line up would be Azcona Velasco,Mina, Caicedo, Ramirez Valencia, Noboa Penilla, Cazares, Plata F. Caicedo And I would change Quinteros for Ramirez, and Tuca Ordonez for Chala or maybe even Carlos Quinteros if he is not available. And I agree I think any Ecuadorian coach given the chance can get us up there (Sevilla, Vizuete, Paul Velez, Aguinaga).
