Review: 2018 WC Qualifying - Towards winning our first WC title: А дело бывало -- и коза волка съедала.

?

Netherlands will end up as nr. 1 in the group.

  1. No-brainer. Of course we will.

    23.1%
  2. If we start like the Euro 2016 qualification, no way. We will go to Russia though.

    42.3%
  3. Not even going to qualify. We do a 2002.

    34.6%

Yes, the 1998 WC team was really quite good but had the misfortune to come up against Brazil in the semifinals. That was too early for van Nistelrooy.

Fucking bullshit, we should've DESTROYED that Brazil team (just like we did in 2010, or 1974).

Brazil are generally scared of Holland, because they are not certain what exactly we will bring against them, which is most often a giagantic piece of POWNAGE!!!!

BTW......Holland are the ONLY country to hold a 3-2 win/loss international advantage over THEM in the world when it comes to international play. No other country in the world has beaten Holland when it comes to Brazil, that is a fact!!!!!!!!!!

I have that game recorded on VHS. Even Kuyt looks skillful compared to the likes of Klaassen or Wijnaldum.

Lol. Thinking about Kuyt, the man can still bevery helpful for this current Oranje team , especially with his unbelievable versatility and leadership skills.

  12. Okay, when we get this kind of talk it is time to guard the dikes, as the water is seeping through it (keep your fingers ready, Hansje B!) and spilling over.

    Not this one that is:

  14. VHS? You should be quick to copy it to a hard disk, as the last company producing VHS players has ceased to do so.

Thats true, but you cant deny that having great speed is a tremendous asset. Would Robben be as good as he was if he was a slowpoke?? I dont think so

Well, Robben is a winger. Almost all great wingers had speed, bar Beckham if we consider him a great player, which I personnally don't really do.

Now, do playmakers need speed ? Nowadays maybe since the tempo is higher, and you got players like Hazard who can combine speed and great passing...But there aren't a lot like him though. And he isn't the best example in terms of effectivness neither...

So I still believe slow 10's à la Van der Vaart or Riquelme can rock if used properly.

Robben's got 3-4 good if he is healthy n used properly. He will be like Totti in a way. The guy is such a natural scorer n has such good combination plays & he is tactically n intelligence wise very high. He has played ST, 2nd ST, LW, RW capably.

I think in the future after 1-2 years he will transition to a 10ish role & he will play it well or he will play ST like Totti. But as of now he has the speed to a Bayern Munich Winger so he should fit Oranje. I mean Messi is 29, Ronaldo is 31, both of them are slower than Robben & play the wing due to their technical skill or goal-scoring or play-making ability. I mean if speed was the be it all you would have Lennon as one of the best winger, but Robben is still pretty quick!

I mean I looked @ Ribery who is 1 years older this season & he was always slower than Robben & he looked very good n quick this season for Bayern!

Re: our mediocre CM situation.. seems it is mostly the wing backs who are able to find them, but not so often.
Of course, as many also noticed, Strootman's game in particular suffers more than others' when he can't find them to get the ball to.

But, glad we were able to create some chances despite this!
But what I can't decide, if it is our plan to play more on the wings, or is this just what happens because of Wijnaldum and Klaassen's inability to find space and create some chances?

I only tuned in towards the end but I saw Oranje playing a 4-2-4 formation against a 4-5-1 from Greece. Even if Strootman and Klaassen were good footballers they'd have no chance to play it through the middle like that.

Blind can't dribble one on one so you obviously expect him to use the midfield's compared to the likes of PVA and Willem's who like running don't the flanks. I think intruction vs Sweden was quiet clear defuse and sit back. On the other hand if janmaat was defensively lethargic but was offensively was running riot,I cant see Why PVA would have been a better option than Blind.

Janmaat and is overlapping game,it is always gona be the wingers or midfield he will use to go forward.
