Yeah.... no. His man marking is below average now. It's time for new midfielders.

You asked and you shall receive!

- Gazzetta

why doesn't he start? I'm seeing a bit of a pattern with Verratti and Italian coaches.

DDR is out vs Israel so I think Verratti going to have to start at this point. We really need him to take that midfield and run with it.

No more excuses for Verratti. If he doesn't start that raises some serious red flags.

Let him become the best Italian midfielder first. He may be loved in Paris. He still needs to prove himself in the Azzurri shirt.

Does that apply to Montolivo too? Or does his one pass to Balotelli still resonate too deeply?

Let's hope Bernardeschi gets some time in the game. He seems like a promising player to me.

I understand clearly. I am always nervous before a game like this no matter how strong the opponent is. Sometime I get more confident if our opponent is stronger.

Brilliant from Verratti, and it seems like Pelle will continue to play if he converts sitters like that

I really dislike our false v-neck kits. I know we had that same look in 2006 so maybe we revived it for superstition. Nevertheless it's stupid.

If our central midfielders are going to relinquish their roles to the centerbacks, shit like that will happen.

Verratti with an Iniesta-like pre-assist. Can't wait until he's in black and white doing the same thing.

    My observations so far...

    1) On this current team, we have no central threat whatsoever. It amazes me how teams just can't mark out Pelle and the wings. If I was an opponent, I'd force Italy to make Eder win the game on his own, despite what he did vs Sweden.

    2) Chiellini has been shit in the Ventura era.

    3) this shit of Bonucci thinking he is Franz Beckenbauer has to go. He has literally been spraying aimless balls all game long. It's a joke. Get off your high horse and act like a CB.
