Welcome to the 2016-17 Transfer Thread, and the club's new scouting strategy: sign up all the 22-year-olds. The dream of the 90s is alive at Barça It seems club director Robert Fernández has inside knowledge on how babies born in 1994 would grow up to be the next golden generation of footballers. Surely being born in the same year as The Lion King, the Playstation, and Friends counts for something. Beanie Babies, those Magic Eye 3-D stereograms, Cruyff's Dream Team... We can only hope Bravo or MAtS rocks this throwback: Carry on with the rumor-mongering.

I wonder if our guys are considering Danny Blind ?? He's a class player who is comfortable at CB ,LB and even better in midfield possibly ..
How bizarre .... Our 4th striker looks to be Paco Alcacer - aged .... 22 - according to quite a few sources ... Wiki on Google even had him as a Barca player for a short while this afternoon ... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paco_Alcácer
Finally Mundo Deportivo and Sport agree on something. Both reporting Barcelona are in advanced talks with Valencia for Paco Alcacer.— . (@xJude22) August 12, 2016
Out of nowhere, and it would be a huge coup. Most of the rumors are based on Peter Lim being in Barcelona today. Word is Valencia is a motivated seller because they need to meet Fifa Fair Play regulations. Munir or Samper + cash for Paco? I'd take that deal. Munir or Samper on LOAN + cash for Paco? Where do I sign? One more for the Generation of '94...
Those midgets have won us a lot of trophies over the years . The age of the big man up front has long gone mate
Here we go again with same reply... Yeah yeah I know but would it kill so have someone strong in the air than just Pique? If Pep, Tata, and Lucho didn't think aerial strength is needed why did they all push Pique up in last 5min when the midgets (lol [emoji12]) couldn't pass it into goal? Hmm? Barcelona is year after year weakest team in that department and I believe they could win more games if they could be a threat in the air too.
we have a situation similar to Chelsea's Cech vs. Courtois. One has to go and would be more stupid if we lose MATS over a 33 yo keeper.
Yet that 33 year old goal keeper will go and take first spot at City and make a huge impact. He's not going to sit on the bench there. MATS is clumsy and will never be as good as Cech, Curtois or Bravo. But sure he's young which means he's got lots of years to ruin games. But I hope I'm wrong.
Also how would Barcelona lose MATS? He's under contract until 2019 unless they have some kind of clause but considering he's not playing every game since joining I guess Barcelona is in the clear. What is he gonna do? sulking? Refuse to extend? Pfff! He should just prove he's better than Bravo which he isn't by far, he's just young that's all. He can't hold Barca hostage with any threats of leaving, it's Barca he should be glad to be here. Bravo like Buffon or Cech etc have many many more years left in them. Id keep Bravo even if he's "old".
MATS agreed to join Barcelona as he was promised the first spot knowing the VV was leaving. It was assistant coach Unzue who brought Bravo. MATS was patient enough for two years as a second goalkeeper and now he should get the first spot as I believe he earned it. He needs to play more so he can develop to his potential just like Curtois and DDG and I believe he can be better than both. BTW, I don't rate Bravo that much higher than MATS. Bravo had the advantage of playing more games and constantly giving us the illusion he is better while MATS being at disadvantage playing now and then. I really doubt Bravo could play as good as MATS if they switched their roles. Also you can't force a player to stay if he wants to leave. Manchester City first choice was MATS not Bravo and Barca told them to fcuk off.
Given the number of times that guy has thwarted Barca over the years, would this potential signing fall under the category of "If you can't beat him, join him"?
Hmmm, this sure would be tidy: With Claudio Bravo set to join Manchester City, Barcelona are looking for a replacement and it seems it will be Valencia's Diego Alves. According to Catalunya Radio the 31 year old will become part of the deal for Paco Alcacer that Barcelona are trying to seal. Meanwhile in return Sergi Samper and Munir El Haddadi would go the other way - with Barcelona retaining a re-buy clause on both those players. The deal should be closed before Barcelona vs Real Betis on Saturday. Diego Alves, who is valued at 10 million euros, would be a reserve with Marc-Andre ter Stegen taking the No 1 role. This is an exciting week for the club transfer wise, with ins and outs set to follow. However, one player who might not leave is Douglas - who rejected an offer from Cruzeiro. 2 in and 2 out (0n loan)
