Bergeroo dropped Necib....waouw that was unpredictable, big call on 20 y.o Karchaoui but I like Majri moving up the pitch...the wingers vs fullbacks battle will be very entertaining.

I'm surprised Belanger isn't starting at fullback. She and Lawrence both are speedy to keep up (or almost keep up) with France's wingers. Chapman is dogged and tireless but not fast. Smart to sit Wilkinson for the same reason.

I'm kind of guessing which one's in midfield. Coach put in two left backs :D

' 0-0 Back and forth. Beckie dribbles to box top left, flicks down wide left for Champan overlapping -- replay shows just offside :p Chapman chases to 5m left touch, cross to 12m 6-left, Sinclair hops a leg and shoots one-touch wide left low.

' 0-0 Lawrence flattens Karchaoui at midfield circle left. Foul.

' 0-0 France ping across the back, Canada are in their compact lines across circle back. Houara longball up box right, too far for Diani.

' 0-0 Scott outlets past Matheson to Karchaoui at midfield wide right. Karchaoui long backpass to Bouhaddi.

' 0-0 Majri passes up left touch past Le Sommer, Lawrence backpasses to Labbé. I sense a pattern.

Appalling decision from the referee not to award that pen.

' 0-0 Houara longball up wide right for Diani, Chapman heads away. Schmidt tries to run alongside and dribble, bumped off ball by Henry(?). Abily(?) dribbles up wide right past box top, stumbles over a tackle-try, can't keep ball in.

' 0-0 Off that gk, Canada flick toward box top left for Beckie to chase, M'Bock Bathy backpasses around her to Bouhaddi. Both teams probing with direct play.

' 0-0 Diani juggles at circle top right touch, inside pass hits Bussaglia(?) in stride down box right to 14m. Ground cross to spot, Le Sommer cuts inside Buchanan, gets undercut from behind and lands on butt/back -- ball deflects away, no call. Majri collects at box top mid-left, drives around Lawrence but loses it to her.

' 0-0 France left throw-in at box top, to Le Sommer backshielding at 8m wide left. Le Sommer holds 1-v-2 at left corner flag, wins a corner.

' 0-0 Bussaglia left ck, to 2m 3-right. Renard can't track it with defenders falling backward into her legs, bounces over untouched.

This was a bold move from Bergeroo and I support it. Good that he left MLD out too.

' 0-0 Scoreclock has vanished  M'Bock Bathy chips toward 22m mid-right, headed away, Schmidt gathers. France resume ping in the back.

' 0-0 Scoreclock reappears. Canada left throw-in at midfield, lost. Majri backpass to Abily, backpass to the backline.

' 0-0 M'Bock Bathy(?) chips to arc top right for Diani, Chapman heads it away. M'Bock Bathy dribbles to circle top right, passes to Bussaglia at 33m center. Pass to box left, cross deflected to box top right. Diani rounds Beckie at 14m mid-right but bumps her down, foul.

' 0-0 Canada brief possession at 25m mid-right. Ball-to-arm? Sinclair protests, ref not having it.

' 0-0 France fast ground pass up wide right for Diani -- Chapman wins that race, clears into near touch.

' 0-0 France right throw-in at 10m, to Le Sommer at box right. Le Sommer spins ccw through 4m, legs get pincered by Zadorsky's knees, Le Sommer goes down -- no call again, it is their fate.

' 0-0 Sinclair flicks(?) down wide left for Beckie chasing Houara. Beckie cross to 5m center, too far for Sinclair down centerline -- Bouhaddi stops, Renard stops ball! Calm pass to M'Bock Bathy, rushed clearance. Canada shoot back to 8m, Renard heads it away, cleared into near touch.

' 0-0 More Canada pressure, France clear into far touch.
' 0-0 Canada right throw-in at 25m, backward. Lawrence called for an over-the-back foul?

' 0-0 France through-ball sends Le Sommer down box left -- bumped and leg-jammed at 8m, stumbles but stays up (no call), through 3m mid-left. Backpass just misses behind Abily(?) at 8m left post, bounces past Majri.

' 0-0 France fk at circle top, short left, Canada put it into far touch.

' 0-0 France left throw-in at box top, to Le Sommer shielding at 4m box left. Le Sommer spins cw and leans through box left, bumps Lawrence and goes down. Foul just outside box.

' 0-0 France fk at 4m just outside box left, soft bend to 3m right post. M'Bock Bathy runs through the static lines, hops and tucks 1-v-2, glances a header wide right.

This will be a sad day for soccer if both Canada and Sweden win
by sitting back and putting everyone behind the ball, trying to foul hard.

' 0-0 Fleming dribbles past circle top box right as everybody retreats alongside. Delicate vertical through-ball to box top mid-right, Matheson is in behind but Karchaoui is closer, calm backpass.

' 0-0 Le Sommer chases a backpass to Labbé, calm distribution past her to Lawrence. Zadorsky backpasses to Labbé. Buchanan passes left to Chapman, one-touch ping-and-go with Schmidt, Chapman chases up wide left with a step on Houara. M'Bock Bathy(?) comes across and challenges, pokes ball out.

' 0-0 Beckie left ck, whistle: ref admonishes Buchanan at right post. Retake, inswing into scrum, cleared out to box top mid-left. Matheson and Henry(?) go down on backs, keep each other down. Foul on Matheson?

' 0-0 Houara pressured, pass up right touch leaks over.

' 0-0 Henry trips Buchanan at midfield mid-right. Lawrence loses it out? Karchaoui left throw-in at own box top, to Bouhaddi. Somebody do something.

' 0-0 Schmidt shields a ball bouncing toward left touch, Henry shoulder-strikes her in the back. Schmidt stays down with stingers, resumes.

' 0-0 Fleming vertical pass, Renard heads away. Canada switch left, right, lose it at box top wide right. Karchaoui backpass to Bouhaddi -- Beckie runs on, almost poaches it.

' 0-0 Canada left throw-in, to Schmidt at 30m box left. Spin-ccw and long right roundhouse switch toward right corner flag -- bounces over Fleming, actually grazes the flag fabric on its way by. North of the flagstick, so a throw-in at the arc.

' 0-0 Chapman and Beckie muff a 1-2 combo at midfield right touch, directly to Diani(?). Pass ahead to Le Sommer at 25m center -- she's willing, but 1-v-4, slips while shooting.

' 0-0 Sinclair chips from arc top wide right to 14m mid-left, France chase it down and shield it over.

' 0-0 Lawrence short inside pass to Fleming. Zadorsky long diagonal pass up wide left, intercepted by Houara's leg. France switch left, Majri lures Lawrence way up to box top wide left, pokes past her and chases alone. Cross toward 10m 1/3 left, Abily jumps and misses -- Chapman undercuts her aloft, Abily sit-falls backward and mashes Chapman into the grass. No call, header goes high. Ref signals: gk? Chapman is down, with acute left shoulder pain: something popped?

' 0-0 Stoppage, trainers. Chapman walks around the endzone, trainer supporting her arm. Bélanger is up, but no sub yet. Canada with 10 ...

' 0-0 France ping a triangle at 15m wide right: Houara, Bussaglia, Abily. Cross through 15m center, Majri(?) can't quite collect. Canada foul? +2'.

+1' (of +2') 0-0 Canada subs in (1 of 3) #9 Josée Bélanger for #2 Allysha Chapman.

+1' (of +2') 0-0 France fk from ~arc top wide left, to 4m center, Labbé confused by traffic and punches it only to 6-top. Zadorsky hoofs it into near touch.

+2' (of +2') 0-0 Abily dances through 7m box right to 3m, backpass to Diani at 7m mid-right. Diani drives to 2m 6-right, shot blocked over.

+3' (of +2') 0-0 France right ck, to 6m center. Renard jumps and twists away, back-header juuuuust wide left low.

    HT 0-0.

As I told Romario'sgurl not long ago, Wendie NEEDS to work on her heading technique.
For the moment the game is pretty average, both teams are nervous and not building game-play properly....Abily needs to switch position with Bussaglia.

' 0-0 I can't even finish reading all of the other threads :D what a long day. Canada ping in the back, Le Sommer applies extreme pressure -- forces a bad pass.

' 0-0 Le Sommer chases a bouncing ball down wide left, cuts in front of Buchanan -- who completely inadvertently steps on Le Sommer's planted right foot. Foul, yellow card on Buchanan.

' 0-0 Bussaglia fk at box top wide left, right instep bend way over right 90. Renard gives her a tired stare.

' 0-0 Beckie chases through arc tangent left, Houara(?) heads back to Bouhaddi.

' 0-0 Abily quick pass to box top right, clanged over endline.

' 0-0 France fk at 35m mid-right, Majri drives it into scrum, cleared rightward. Backpass, Majri floats a shross, Labbé catches at right post high.

' 0-0 Canada long switch over Sinclair passive-offside in center, to Matheson running to box top mid-left. Matheson settles but shoots straight over endline.

' 1-0 Zadorsky long switch to Beckie at box top wide right. Karchaoui is late closing out, Beckie cuts inside past her to 10m box right, chips a cross to 3m 3-left. Schmidt back-cuts everybody, uncontested hop-volley into 2/5 left back high. Don't just let Schmidt stroll through the 6!

' 1-0 Majri runs onto ball at 37m left post, Schmidt slides from behind and cuts her down. Foul, yellow card on Schmidt. Her biometric tracker popped out of her back harness, Matheson re-sockets it.

' 1-0 France fk at 37m left post, Bussaglia(?) chips it to 9m center. Sinclair backpedals, hop-heads backward -- off own crossbar 1/6 right, bounces out to 10m and Canada poke it away.

' 1-0 Canada fk at 37m box left, sailed to Bouhaddi.
