We actually looked like a halfway decent team last weekend vs. Angers.

seeing players like ayew, payet, gignac excelling brings me happiness and sadness ... imagine the partnership these would have continued to have if OM managed to keep them ,

so many sceneriors of what if's in the past 5-10 years .. cisse, nasri, ben arfa, gignac, ayew, payet... we had so much respectful talent that we could have challenged for a title(s) .. its really a shame

Iranians are very excited about this. There is a great number of OM supporters in Iran and I am sure if the takeover is complete, OM will be one of the most supporter European teams in Iran. This is also good opportunity for Iranian players, as there are many great and technical young players who can will benefit greatly from playing in such European teams at early age. Hopefully this will be a start of a great co-operation between Iranian and French football.

The Iran news seems to have died. Things better pick up soon or this club is DOA and straight to Ligue 2.

This kind of negociation always tends to stay as secret as possible. If it is real, the protagonists must have been pissed off that it came out into newspapers. If they are still on air, no wonder we don't hear of them.

They made it out to be a big deal but it was basically nothing. She said she rejected all offers and the sale is ongoing.

The reported I read is understood that McCourt to have paid €40m to buy OM.

Am I the only one here feel that this seems like a bit on the low sum of money to own a team which is on a majority of position in a first tier club in Europe? granted and admittedly that the Ligue 1 are not as financial valuable and popular as opposed to the big four (especially EPL teams), however Marseille is still one of a top tier football club and very well-known among in the Europe, they have a large fan-base and regularly average the highest attendance in French football, so is this seriously the rate? €40m seems a bit low to me, especially with those Middle East billionaires and Chinese investors seemingly willingly exploring all over the Europe.

MLD shopped the club around hoping for 100 million and ended up settling for that price, whatever it is. So either the price is fair or MLD really wants out. Either way the Chinese, Russians and Middle-East billionaires didnt see it as a great investment.

Do I think McCourt is going to get more Americans supporting this team ? I doubt it but I hope so. Winning and players that people know will bring more casual fans over. Americans all about the EPL and MLS, but there's no French team thats got a huge following so there's an opening there. Gotta play matches in the US like PSG does and I suspect they will.

Based on our 2 most recent it seems like 1) Garcia is trying to instill some much needed consistency, which may take a bit of time and 2) we definitely need help up top.
